My Smeg oven won't come on at all. There are no digits appearing in the clock display, other than a small A for 'Automatic'. No time is visible at all. If I turn both swithces (mode and temp) to off, the orange thermostat light comes on when I open the oven door. If I turn either switch to on, it does not come on. The oven does not heat up and there is no movement from the fan. I have tried turning power off to the oven but this does not change anything.

Hello steve o - Typically error code F11 indicates a shorted keypad. Try resetting the range by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. This usually will clear most false error codes. Wait approximately ten minutes and if the error code does not clear contact a professional to move forward accurately. Most likely the EOC on the range will need replacing.
If the clock is blank, then the main oven will not work, as the clock timer is linked with the main oven.
You need to to get the clock working, or you will not be able to use the main oven
My Smeg oven will not work either. All I get is an "A" on the display, the clock has disappeared and as a result the oven won't come on. I see from other postings here I can bypass the clock so that the oven works again - can anyone advise how I do this?
I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue. My husband had the grill on too high and melted the buttons, I thought they weren't going in because of that but we've got new buttons and they're working at one side of the clock and not the other.
For the meantime, you can get a thin screwdriver, or something, and poke it through the holes where the buttons would go to substitue. That will get it working in the short term.
