SOURCE: Strong metal taste, how do I get rid of it.

Professional chefs face this problem many times over with their stainless steel wares. Fill the coffee pot with water. Add a tbs of bleach. Let set for 2 hours. See if that helps. If it doesn't, please let me know.

We have a sunbeam peace and quiet kettle ke7500s it is approx 3months old. When we reboil the water there's always a tainted water taste in the tea and coffee .The taste is so bad we tip out the hot...

As you know friend, some water when it is boiled it really taste bad so I suggest use a water purifier to filter other out dirt, dust, other particles in a water street supply. Sure when you drink the water (not boiled) it doesn't taste bad, that's normal because we can't distinguish it easily. Also try to clean your kettle using baking soda it will eliminate tainted taste.
I hope my advice help you with your problem.

I purchased a perko urn model #107Sss and the water has a terrible metalic taste. What can i do

I bought the same horrible, cheap, dishonest unit. They disingenuously say to rinse and boil once. I've boiled the water at least twelve or thirteen times. They also brag it doesn't need immersion (not because such units don't require immersion since that will damage the unit and they don't need immersion) but because of their superior spirituality. Let them answer for dishonesty in 120 years.

Why does the water boiled in this kettle smell and taste chemically? Any boiled in a plastic kettle in my home is fine.

hello,

the chemical taste of smell from your kettle means that the element in the kettle which provide heat to boiled the water has gone bad due to over heating

this occur when there is shortage of water level in the kettle when the power supply is on

to fix up this problem of smell and chemical taste in your boiled water you will have to make a change of the element (heater)because it has gone bad you can get a replacement of it in the store .

thank you and thanks for using fixya.

Awful smell and taste to water boiled in a stainless steel kettl

I have the same problem. Noticed it was in two different pots. The comment number one must be correct because I only use VERY high alkaline water to boil my foods. I had a feeling it was my water. So interesting! I will clean it w white vinegar and see if the smell goes away. SAME weird chemical smell- turns your stomach.

New kettle leaves a metalic tast to water after boiling.

Try different water. If you use tap water normally, buy a jug of water at the store. The pH may be wrong (particularly if it is too low) and leeching metal from the kettle. Good luck.

Smell and taste from water after it has been boiled in kettle. Water from tap, or boiled in a pot has no taste or smell. We are ina soft water area and have no limescale. anyone else complained?

It must be the kettle causing the problem from what you say. If th e kettle is new the problem should reduce with use but if it is old it will get worse (possibbly due to rubber washers/seals perishing)
