Drywall dust has ruined your tool. It seizes up bearings and bushings like you wouldn't believe.

SOURCE: How do i take the bit off of a dremel multipro

unscrew the collet nut, and then if it's still stuck, tap the end of the bit on the table or something solid. It'll come loose then.

My Dremel sijmply stopped working suddenly. Where do I begin? Brushes?

If you have a volt/ohms meter It is a process of elimination. First unplug tool and remove the brushes turn the switch on and check for continuity to the brush holders and if none work backwards start with the cord and then the switch etc until the problem is found.

I cant loosen the bit on my dremel variable 395. The hole that the 'stop rotary pin' enters which stops the shaft from spinning is stripped out. The pin will not stay in place when I attempt to unscrew the...

Clamp the bit in a vise or with vise-grips (you will probably ruin it) to hold it while you loosen the collet. You can disassemble the tool and get the lock assembly P/N 2615297356 from for less than $2.00. Search for the part number on line for a source.

As I was using the tool the motor was over heating so I turned it off and now it won't start. Is there a reset for it?

it failed. there is no rhyme or reason. Even a new anything can break at anytime. If it doesnt turn on after it cooled down no use fixing it.

How do I attach tools to my Dremel?

hello. You loosen the arbor at the base of the shaft closest to the tool. There is a tiny wrench in the kit that came with the dremel, or you can use a pair of pliers to loosen it. Joe

I own a Dremel model 395 type 5 variable speed and it suddenly stopped working. I was wondering if it was common for the switches to go bad or if it's known for other parts to cause it not to turn on.

I would recommend going to Dremel.com and asking their tech section about this. I have one also and mine works fine other than a small amount of heat at the spindle area.

The next day, I was asked if the help I received was helpful. So here I am posting this response. I haven't received any expert advice yet, but when I do....!
