What is causing black pixels or dots where should be a differant color, worse when should be red?

Started off as a very small area near center of screen and very noticeable when should be red. The problem has continued to grow to a larger area over time. Worse when should be red but noticeable regardless at this point. It looks similar to a couple days beard growth on a person's face. A Pioneer factory person said it sound like the main A board needs to be replaced which he said would cost approximately $1000.00 to replace. With the price of TVs today that's not an option. How do you confirm that its the Main A Board and where is it located? In the panel or media receiver? Swapping boards is not an issue for me. I can do some minimal board troubleshooting as well but i do not have a scope at this time. I do have a good VOMs both digital and analog. Where can I access schematics of both the panel and media receiver. It looks like boards go for $30 to $150 online depending on the board so a do it yourself could be done for quite a bit less than $1000 quoted by Pioneer. Another issue, I watch quite a bit of Fox News, a carryover from an extended illness with over four months of hospitalizations. The Fox logo and banner have left what I thought was burn in but may actually be a retention problem. What do you think it is and if retention, whats the best way to get rid of it? Try the scan PCBs that run down the side and the connectors that hook them up to the rest of the system. That would be my first place to start.

Unfortunately I don't have service manuals for non-european models. What is the date of manufacture?

My tv screen has a black spot

HI,
Are you sure that there is balck dot on the sreen. Check one more time is it any dust on the screen.
Black spot Means pixel of the Lcd sreen is fault. There are thousands of pixels in an lcd screen. when any of the pixel or a group of pixels become faulty the black spot will appear. Its not possile to rectify the problem other than replacing the LCD panle if its avilable. The avilability of lcd screen is very rare.

There is a red dot near the center of my Vizio tv screen, what is it?

if just a single tiny dot it is a bad or defective pixel in the front panel-usually there from first time the unit is powered up but from a distance may not be noticed--almost never gets worse or increases in size. Unless set is under warranty do not worry about is as a Panel(entire front screen unit) usually costs more to replace then the entire TV.

I HAVE RED DOTS ALL OVER ANY BLACK COLOR OF THE PICTURE

Could be whats known as dead pixels, this is tested be showing up a black or white screen. Microsoft paint or word will do. If an area always has dots then dead pixel. However if it doesn't constantly remain a dot then, some-thing else. Dead pixels come about due to age.
A technician will be able to diagnose your problem by performing white screen test.

What does it mean by dead cells?

I assume this is related to your LCD monitor.
I think you mean dead pixels. The LCD monitor has tiny pixel elements, one for each red, blue, green color and each one of these colored pixels are turnes on by a transistor. When a transistor fails then the colored pixel it controls does not light up. This is a dead pixel and it shows up as a tiny black dot.
If the screen displays a blue screen, a dead blue pixel will appear as a tiny black dot in the blue screen.
You normally would not notice a few dead pixels unless they are grouped together.

Dots on screen

The snowy dots and dots are typically from a poor signal going into the TV.

If there are colored pixels that stay lit all the time (like a red pixel and never goes away) and for any input, that’s called a stuck pixel.

A stuck pixel may be caused by a bad Y-Sustain, Y-drives, Z-sustain, and or a bad plasma panel.

Good Luck.

Mine does not seem to be changing when it warms up, and I also get it on my digital cable as well as on any DVD's I play. Please help with any advise. Red pixels on the Srceen

Dead or stuck pixels are not uncommon in LCD displays, and the less you pay, the more likely it is to happen (as a general rule) Most manufacturers will a dead pixel warranty, ranging from 7 days to lifetime.

Read your warranty carefully, and speak to the place where you bought your display.

I hope that helps, if you have any further problems, please add them ass comments to this question. If I have been able to answer your question (or not) please click on one of the ratings buttons to let everyone know how I did.
Thanks for your feedback, and good luck.
