I want to try and recover data from my register. I have a Casion register and want to see a month to month revenue breakdown for as far back as possible. I can't find this anywhere.
I have never seen a cash register with a memory for storing monthly receipts. You probably need to upgrade to a computer with a cash register capability that will track your monthly, weekly or daily transactions like the banks have. In California, Dell Computer are used at most of are banks and probably are very user friendly for doing these types of transactions. Then you will also have to check to make sure you get the right software program for your business as well.
when I Z off at the end of the day I turn the key to Z then input 14 then cash/tend that gives you a read out of everything sold listing individual plu's it will show all sales that the till has made back to the last time it was done its like a stock take if you have never done it it may take a while and add up to a huge amount
you can save data with a flash card ..this is something I have never done as yet
Unless you were using the CF card for back up, it may be impossible to recover the info that you need ,however if took note of the GT at the biggining of the periond you need to check , all you need is to subtract it from today's GT . Gud luck

Insert a CF FLASH CARD into the front of the register before taking a "Z" report. Turn the manager's key to Z1 and press CASH AMOUNT TENDER to issue a BATCH report of all sales activity, which prints from the register's receipt printer. This report information is also automatically written to the CF Flash Card capturing the register's terminal number and date of the report. This data is formatted as a "TXT" file and can be open with Microsoft EXCEL. Use EXCEL to combine multiple register totals. Create historical report data and e-mail the reports to corporate or to district managers. Saves time and reduces transposition errors.
Use the CF Flash Card to save the entire register program before moving the register to a new venue where it can be reprogrammed in a flash with the new menu.
