Why won't my se-s700 print with ink? Feed key works, everything else still works, just seems like I'm out of ink?

I hope you have the owner's manual for your Casio SE-S700 Electronic Cash Register. If so, the instructions for setting the sales tax start on page E-11.

Most likely printer failure. This is common. Those printers don't last more than a few years

INK PROBLEM
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages,then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

I have the same problem. Everything on the printer is working just fine. It'll do a test page just fine, so everything's working right. The %$^ thing just won't print. It makes noise like it's printing when you give it a print job, but it spits out blank pages.

Turn key to PROGRAM mode. Turn power off at wall. Hold FEED down - keep your finger on it. Turn power on at wall. Wait 5 seconds, then let go of FEED. Press SUBTOTAL.
After power on. You are ready to get going.

Try a flag break first:

Oh dear. That could be bad. it is telling you that it wants to lose everything and start again. we don't have that model, but I can try a flag clear with you, and it sometimes will have the program intact. It usually happens if the machine has been stored too long, or the battery has failed.

Turn the key to program mode.
Turn the power off at the wall.
Hold RECEIPT FEED button down. make sure it is receipt feed, NOT journal feed.
Turn power on at wall, and keep holding button down.
Wait 10 seconds.
Now let go of RECEIPT FEED, and you should see 'FFFFFFFFF' on the display.
Press SUBTOTAL. It should print out after a few seconds. If it doesn't, press SUBTOTAL again.
Check the print out, and you will see a copyright message etc. Look at the bottom right of the paper, and you should see a big number there. If it has all zeros there, then you have lost everything, and you'll need to start from scratch. Otherwise, turn key back to reg mode, and try it.
