I have the same issue. WS-55511 Turns off after I turn on the TV. I have replaced the 7 capacitors on the DM Module daughter board. I have run my fingers across the front panel buttons. I have reset the system and unplugged it overnight. I've checked for error codes and I don't get any. I think I may have blown a fuse, but I'm not sure what the cause was.... Please help!

I had a repairman come out and this is what he found....the coolant for the projection bulbs was leaking from 2 of the 3 bulbs. The coolant damaged the convergance board and the processor board. Cost to repair....over $900, I bought a new plasma set...got to tell ya I am disapponted in this $3000 paperweight.

When you turn the tv on it go right back off Mitsubishi WS-55511 55 in. It about (5)yrs old I have try unplugging the tv for about 3 to 5 minute

Do this: When you turn it on and the green power light comes on and goes off:

On the front of the set press and hold BOTH the Menu and Input buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and then release both.

This model has a self check: The green power light will then blink a two digit error code: most common is 2 blinks, 2 blinks and a pause and repeat the error code at least 5 times.

Let me know what you find and I will tell you what it means.

I hope you get 2,2 as it is the most easy to resolve.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

Mitsubishi ws-55511 does not turn on

Listen: you need to wait for the set to first shut off! then push on the TV(not the remote) Input and Menu both at the same time for 5 seconds and then release---the power light will then blink---this model has this feature--

Mitsubishi VS-60705, Turns on/Turns off.

Unfortunately you will need an experienced TV tech.
This unit will need 2 ICs STK392-110 for 1 has shorted and caused damage to the 2nd as a result blowing 1 or 2 pico fuses in the power supply.
It is an involved job and may be somewhat costly depending on the pricing in your area.
Hope this helps Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

Powers on for three seconds then goes off

The first thing to do is to try to determine why the set is not turning on. It is equipped with a self diagnostic feature. On the front of the set push the MENU and DEVICE button at the same time and hold until the LED starts flashing a two sequence code. That will narrow things down for us.

WS-55511 55in volume turns up by itself & can't switch devices

The remote is not the problem. The switch for volume up on the control panel has become leaky. Very common problem for this generation Mitsubishi. If you don't mind not having the control panel working you can disconnect it and the set will work just fine with the remote. To disconnect the control panel pull the speaker grill, it just snaps off, and remove the front access panel. Once that is done you'll see a cable going to the switches just disconnect it.

Power up

the error code will be a blink code from the led it should blink a couple times vbriefly pause and then blink again. Count the blinking led in between the slight pause.

WS-55511

Press in together the menu button and the Device/input button on the set and hold them both in together for 5 seconds and see if the led will blink a two digit error code, then respond to this same post and let me know if it gave a error code and what the two digits were.
