Home PC has virgin media cable modem, bought BUFFALO Airstation wireless router - then found PC had no internal wireless LAN adaptor. Bought and installed EDIMAX wireless adaptor and was able to access internet for a couple of hours.

Now no access to internet. Ralink icon shows adaptor not connected and wireless icon says no wireless network available. Device manager says wireless adaptor is installed - working properly, no conflicts.

Have uninstalled and taken out adaptor and then reinstalled. Install wizard says adaptor is installed and ready to use but icon still says adaptor not connected.

Any tips - if adaptor is installed correctly, how do i reconnect to wireless router?

Tell us the make and model of your computer, and we may be able to help.
Some computers have a switch that controls this adapter, and you may need to turn it on.

You may use the above given link to find and download the drivers and utility for your adapter (F5D8055). Also, check the version no. on the adapter and only then download. Else, it may never work!

Intel Pro/Wireles is not connecting, Error Message "Error loading Plugins..."

the plug ins that it relates to can only be other programmes that are associated with the network for example windows zero configuration. I would suggest going to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager and look in the list for network adapters and on the '+' sign right click on your wireless network card and select uninstal. Restart pc and it should be installed automatically, but keep your eye on the taskbar when it says found new hardware and ensure that it says it has found the intel pro wireless( if thats the model) and try again. Also re install the drivers from your notebooks web site incase there are updated ones.
