I would definitely wire this in 2 ohm stereo. This is a much cleaner sound and though it may not be bridged you would never notice the difference.

Your amplifier is 4 channel... and only 2 ohm stereo capable.

You will get the most power putting 1 subwoofer wired in parallel on each BRIDGED channel.

This will give you a 2 ohm stereo load.

Both + on 1 subwoofer to + terminal on amplifier bridged channel 1
Both - on 1 subwoofer to - terminal on amplifier bridged channel 1

Both + on 1 subwoofer to + terminal on amplifier bridged channel 2
Both - on 1 subwoofer to - terminal on amplifier bridged channel 2

How do you wire 4 kicker cvr dual voice coil 4ohms to a 1500.1 kicker mono block 1 channel amp, they sound distorted when i turn them up, how should i wire them?

Hello antjobe,

According to Kicker the 1500.1 is only stable to 2ohms. So you will want your 4 CVR's to present a 2ohm or higher impedance to the amp.

The best configuration would be to wire the voice coils in series (each sub 8ohms) and then parallel all of the subs to the amp (2ohms). Here's a link to the diagram.

Hope this helps.

Got a 12"kicker L74ohm sub and sony xm-D9001GTR mono amp

Hello juan_penaloz,

The Kicker L7 has an RMS power range of from 50-750 watts and a maximum power handling capability of 1,500 watts so your Sony amp will power it OK. A more powerful monoblock like the Alpine MRP-M1000 or the Kicker 08ZX750.1 would provide even more power and could operate safely at 2ohms.

You have the voice coils wired properly for the Sony amp. It's OK to have the sub impedance higher, but you definitely do not want it lower than the 4ohms the amp is rated at in bridged mode.

Hope this helps.

4000.1 soundstorm amp

Hello GregV24CHOPP,

The Soundstorm products are in about the same category as Boss, Visonik, Pyle, and Lanzar to name a few. Somewhere between overrated and definitely overpriced for the quality you get.

Look into the Alpine MRP-M1000. RMS = 1kW into 2ohms (600 into 4ohms), YES 4 OHMS(!), real power. No, it WON'T do one ohm. But most of those claiming to are not CEA2006 compliant anyway and can claim any power at any load and advertise for whatever buyers they can attract for their bottom-of-the-barrel products.

The MRP-M1000 is currently on sale at Crutchfield for only $347. Awesome power, and very good sound quality, too. I'm currently running 2 4ohm MTX Thunders off of "little brother", the MRP-M500, and they really shake the pavement.

You have to spend good money to get good power, there is no way around that.

The only wiring configurations for 2 2ohm DVC subs result in 0.5ohm, 2ohms, and 8ohms impedance. Check the Rockford-Fosgate "wiring wizard" for the different diagrams.

Hope this helps.

2. If you have 3 subs runninng on the amp i hope those subs are 8ohms and you wired them in parelell to give an impedance of 2ohms. Let me know. Mark @ Sounds Good to Me.. tempe, az

Three jl w3 single coil

You can't run parrallel on 3 single voice coil subwoofers. If you run all the negatives from each coil and possitives from each coil to one terminal you will be dividing the ohms by 3. I don't think JL ever made a single voice coil 2 ohm subwoofer though. If you ran a parrallel on 3 8 ohms you would be at 2.7 ohms. 3 4 ohm would put you down to 1.3

SWR-1242D wired at 4ohms

Hi!

Having to much power for a subwoofer is a veeeery good thing, it will provide a lot of control and quality sound to your sub.

But this sub is a dual voice coil at 2 x 4ohm so if you want to hook it up at 4 ohm u need a 2 channel amplifier running mono mode.

i dont recomend that you hook up in 4 ohm, its better to take some time adjusting the levels on the amp and the headunit.

This system has the potential to create a realy good bass sound if u tune it the right way.

Unsureness of wiring configurations.

Mamola,

Get an amp with at least 200 Watts RMS. The RMS value is what is important about driving Subs. This could be proclaimed to be a 1000 Watt amp. REad the RMS value.

Wiring. It is better to series your Speakers to give them and your amp more reliability,

Get a Mono or Bridgeable amp. If it si bridgeable, BRidge the output as described in the manual you get. Some Amps have a diagram right on the output..

AMP+ to Sub1 +
Sub1 - to Sub2 +
Sub2 - to Amp -

Get a 4 Guage wring kit. Run your power wiring down the Drivers side, and Audio signal wiring down the Passenger side, keep the two separate.

Behringer ep2500 amplifier

Yes you can,,,,,BUT the output labelling on the AMP will tell you where you can connect the 4ohms or the 8ohms....please read these labels and connect the 4ohm speakers to the 4ohm terminals, and the 8ohms to the 8ohms terminals...

If you intend to connect the 4ohm and the 8ohm speakers in parallel then the output impedance terminals you use should be the 4ohm ones.

If there is no labelling showing any 4ohm output terminals then its best if you dont use the 4ohm speakers at all....just connect the 8ohm to the 8ohm terminals...you dont mention any crossover networks inside the speaker boxes or if you have tweeter speakers... so just stick to the basics above at present....

Cheers From YUBEUT
