Restoring a Netgear Router to Factory Default Settings

You have forgotten/lost the password to log into the NETGEAR router or access point (NOTE : This refers to the password required to access the devices administrative interface. If you have forgotten the password required to access the wireless network, you should refer to this article instead).
If you are trying to access the router itself via it's IP address (192.168.X.1) where X is usually 0, 1 or 2... The username and password should both be admin if not, try no username with admin as the password, or try admin as the username with no password.
If you have forgotten your password you can reset the router to its factory state and setup a new password for it. Resetting the router will wiped out all changes that have been saved. To reset the router, look for the small hole at the back of it. Press and hold it for 10-15 seconds using a Pen or Paperclip. Then access the router settings page so that you can personalize the settings.
