The cycle solenoid adjust is a pretty straight-forward adjustment. Check out the attached image.

Kodak 750h won't reverse

If the projector cycles in FORWARD and holds SELECT when the SELECT button is pushed and held, then the projector simply needs a cycle solenoid adjustment. This can be accomplished by following the adjustment procedure in the Kodak Service Manual posted at: http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-locale=en_US&pq-path=6499

The select bar on the projector is not working.

The Carousel 600 Projector is at least 45 years old!! Great to hear it still turns on!!
Because the 600 has no forward or reverse buttons, forward is accomplished by "tickling" (very lightly push) the Select bar. If you can cycle it forward and no Select, then you need to adjust the cycle solenoid to find the balance between forward and select. If you have NO forward, then chances are either the cycle solenoid is WAY out of adjustment, or the LINK between the CYCLE SOLENOID PLUNGER and the CYCLE LEVER is broken. You should still be able to order the LINK from: www.micro-tools.com

Kodak 850 Carousel Projector tray won't advance

The Carousel 850 is 40-45 years old. The symptoms you describe indicate the timing is off. Timing is an "adjust & test"..... try a SMALL adjustment and then test it.... adjust again & test again. Repeat until you get smooth tray action. See the attached illustration:

Kodak 850 carousel advance link replacement procedure

Sure!! I'm assuming you have already purchased the LINK.....

1> Remove the bottom cover (power unplugged and lamp & optics removed)
2> Locate the adjustment plate for the cycle solenoid. Remove the 3 hex screws that secure the solenoid coil to the plate. Remove the solenoid coil.
3> Remove remainder of broken Link from the end of the solenoid plunger. Rivet the new link in its place. Insert the link into the rectangular slot on the cycle lever.
4> Reassemble the solenoid coil onto the plunger and replace the 3 screws in their correct holes. Tighten the 2 screws that go through the rubber grommets. Leave the 3rd screw snug but not tightened yet.
5> Plug the projector in....
>DANGER: SHOCK HAZARD!!, exposed electrical contacts<
Turn the projector on and cycle the projector in "Forward" mode. Adjust the Solenoid mounting plate up or down to get a quality forward cycle without excessive buzzing. Check reverse the same way. Adjustment will have to be a compromise between forward and reverse cycling. Tighten the adjustment screw.

Kodak Slide Projector not moving carousel

Chances are that the LINK that connects the cycle solenoid plunger to the cycle lever is broken. This happens a lot on this generation of projectors. You can purchase the parts from: www.micro-tools.com, as Kodak no longer stocks parts. micro-tools should be able to provide installation instructions! Good Luck!

I have a Kodak 650H Carousel projector that I am repairing for a customer. This is my first Kodak projector repair, and so far I have succeeded in replacing the solenoid link (what a pain). After...

You are almost there!! the toughest part is done (the link!!). You need to loosen the screw on the solenoid plate that DOES NOT go through the black rubber grommets slightly and then put a flat-blade screwdriver in the adjustment slot & twist a little bit. Tighten, turn the projector right-side up, turn on (FAN position!) & try a couple of cycles. Repeat as necessary. It's a trial & error adjustment. I hope this helps !! Good luck !!

Kodak 760H will not advance slides

If the projector neither advances or reverses, then most likely the problem is caused by the cycle solenoid "link". The "link" connects the cycle solenoid to the slide change mechanism. The "link" is plastic, and over time gets brittle & cracks, rendering the slide change mechanism non-functional.
If the projector cycles in Reverse and functions in Select, then chances are the projector just needs an adjustment of the cycle solenoid.
Either problem can be addressed by a factory-trained service dealer.

My slide projector carousel does not advance

Does the projector run in reverse?? If so, then what you are facing is a timing adjustment.
If it does not cycle in either direction, then there is a high probability that the solenoid "link" is broken. The "link" connects the cycle solenoid plunger to the slide change mechanism.
The good news: There are still parts available (www.micro-tools.com). The less-than-good-news: both fixes are difficult and best handled by a factory-trained repair dealer.

Cannot reverse the carousel

The problem you are describing is most likely a cycle solenoid adjustment. There are several versions of Kodak Slide Projectors, and each version has a different method to adjust the cycle solenoid so you get a complete forward and reverse cycle. It is not an adjustment (in any version) you can make without some disassembly, therefore I recommend you take the projector to a factory-trained repair dealer, and let them make the adjustment. Good Luck!

Bought a 760H to show some old sllides, but the tray does not advance. Is this something that can be fixed? Everything else works fine.

In a word - yes. Most anything on a Kodak Slide Projector can be fixed.
If your Carousel 760H will cycle in Reverse but not Forward, then it's an adjustment of the cycle solenoid. If the projector will not cycle slide forward ort reverse, then it is probably the cycle solenoid "Link". The "Link" connects the plunger of the cycle solenoid to the slide change mechanism. The good news: parts are available (www.micro-tools.com). You will need to seek out a factory-trained dealer to make either one of these repairs for you.
