Dirt or dust accumulation can retard the gear mechanism. If you get Canned Air at WalMart, blow out all open areas and see if you can dislodge the material collected inside.

I used to have a KODAK warranty dealer in New Jersey - - not sure how close to you, though...... Comet Camera & Video Repair in Cherry Hill, NJ 08002; 856-857-9250. I am unsure of the current status of this business, as Kodak stopped authorized repairs of slide projectors in 2007. Good Luck!!

If you can be specific as to the problem you are experiencing with your Kodak 760H, I will attempt a diagnosis.

A KODAK Carousel 760H is designed to be used with either KODAK 140 or KODAK 80 Slide Trays. The KODAK 80 Slide Tray has wider slide compartments, which tend to be more forgiving for older, slightly warped slides.

This is a common problem with older projectors like this. There is a "link" that connects the slide cycle solenoid to the slide change mechanism. The "link" is plastic and gets brittle & cracks with age, rendering cycling non-functional. this is a difficult repair, but parts are still available. I recommend you contact an factory-trained repair dealer to get your projectors repaired.

Both of these models were manufactured by KODAK between 1971 and 1981 (roughly). My guess is that they both have the same failure: The "link" that connects the cycle solenoid to the slide change mechanism is broken. This "link" is plastic, and gets brittle & cracks over time. While parts are still available, this repair is best done by a factory-trained tech with the service manuals.

the kodak projectors need occasional cleaning and lubrication of the mechanism. the grease gets gummy and sometimes siezes the moter as well. take it in to a shop for a good cleaning or, if you're mechanically inclined, you could do it yourself. just remember which screws go where.

If your Carousel 760H will cycle in Reverse but not Forward, then it's an adjustment of the cycle solenoid. If the projector will not cycle slide forward ort reverse, then it is probably the cycle solenoid "Link". The "Link" connects the plunger of the cycle solenoid to the slide change mechanism. The good news: parts are available (www.micro-tools.com). You will need to seek out a factory-trained dealer to make either one of these repairs for you.

You have jammed the slide change mechanism. Turn the projector off. Remove the tray using the emergency release slot in the center hub of the projector. Turn the projector on and cycle it a few times in reverse, then in forward. That usually clears a mechanism jam.
