Your mac doesn't recognize the system folder. Try to find the original boot disks that came with the machine, and see if you can mount the hard disk while booting from the CDs. If you can, I'd backup the data as soon as possible and reinstall the operating system, including a full hard drive reformat. If you can't see the hard drive from the boot cd, another option is to hold down the T key during startup to boot the mac into "target disk mode" - this will allow you to hook up the g3 to another computer as an external hard disk in order to back up the data.

The MacBook Air is not known to be susceptible to the bad capacitor issue, which concerned capacitors that Apple used four and five years ago.
You are not seeing a kernel panic, because you have not reported the gray overlay screen with a message in multiple languages.
I would recommend against reloading your system or having your logic board replaced without attempting several much less invasive potential solutions.
The first potential solution I would pursue is to reset the power manager on your MacBook Air. From a powered-down state, connect the AC power cable, then while holding down (left) shift-control-option, press the power button once. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to start the computer.
If that doesn't fix the problem, try the following:
Disconnect all external peripherals. Make sure you are not running your computer on a soft surface (overheating).
If the sleep indicator light briefly illuminates just before the system shuts down, you will need to have a technician check the thermal sensor connection to the logic board.
Using the original system discs and an external USB optical drive, run the Apple System Hardware Diagnostic on your MacBook Air. If error codes are reported, take them in to a technician.
There are other tests that can be done and logs that can be checked by a technician. If your computer continues to give you this trouble despite trying the above steps, you might do best to bring it in.

This exact same thing happened to me, the only way I got my laptop to work again was to reinstall the laptop's original operating system software. Follow the instructions on this website:

By doing this your macbook should work again, but all information on your harddrive will be erased including non-standard applications such as word ect...
