It seems that some users installing iTunes 8 on Windows systems are encountering an error message:

“ERROR: The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning cds and dvds are missing… Please re-install iTunes”

iTunes uses GEAR software drivers for importing and burning CD’s & DVD’s. Re-installing (or installing the latest GEAR drivers seems to fix this problem. No reboot required for this install.

You can get the current GEAR drivers here: http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.cfm

If this does not fix your problem download a fresh installer for iTunes here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Uninstall iTunes, reboot, & then do a fresh install of iTunes.

Hope This Help You

You can change your Apple ID, password, or personal information at any time by signing in and clicking View Account at the My Info page (http://myinfo.apple.com). Changes you make to your Apple Account while you're in iTunes are also recognized by other applications where you use the same Apple Account (for example, the online Apple Store, MobileMe, or iPhoto). You may be asked to verify your information the next time you use your Apple Account to purchase something in another application.
You can also update your personal details linked to your Apple ID should they change. The country of the primary address associated with your Apple ID is used to determine the correct iTunes Store country, when activating your iPhone, and by other applications where you use the same Apple Account.

Hi David,
There are two ways to delete music from your iPod. The first is to delete songs in your iTunes library and have iTunes sync your library to your iPod automatically when you plug your iPod into the computer.
The second is to manually delete music by resetting the options to a manual setting and deleting music directly from your iPod without affecting the songs in your iTunes library. Follow these steps to delete music from your iPod.

most probable chances are that the disc has some minor scratches and you are using some delicate drives like sony... if you want to recover the data then use a samsung drive (small scratches are not a problem for that drive), then take a backup of your disc, i am not saying your drive is not good but this is what i have experianced..

1 - When viewing the apps on your iDevice in iTunes, you can check and uncheck apps from the Sync Apps list to add or remove them from your iDevice when you sync next. If there are apps listed that you know you'll never return to, you'll notice that there is no way to delete them from this list.

Your library is held within your user files at user/music/iTunes. So as long as you don't delete that your library will be safe after uninstalling and re installing. Uninstalling does not itself delete that file or folder. :)
