Try to replace the printer head cable, the flat white cable connected to it.

You have to set the printing properties to print not in draft mode... it should be in graphic mode... it prints slow but it surely gives you what you want.

It is not the cable... it is the printer setting before you print, change it to normal mode printing then try to print.

Horzontal white lines cut through print and picture copies. When doing head allignment the horozontal bars all have a white gap, 1 through 7. Epson Stylus CX5400

You don't need to do head alignment, because it is for vertical banding in printout. Vertical banding can be minimized by disabling high speed option without doing head alignment. If your printout have horizontal white lines, do check nozzle and head cleaning, or you can minimize white lines by printing in best quality (photo).

Red and blue lines across printouts

open printing preferences and click on maintenance. Run the print head alignment utility. Sometimes this will remove the horizontal banding. I had this same problem and had to uninstall the printer and reinstall just like it was new, running the alignment feature before it was corrected. Worked ok for a few days then started again. I assumed that the printhead is bad. To costly to repair and bought a new printer.

Vertical print residue left about half inch past the longest line printed

inside the front cover, under where the head parks, you will find a vertical wiper. Clean it.

Power off. open front door. push down cutter (blue) and slide head to the left. To the right of the cleaning pad is the wiper. clean with rubbing alcohol on both sides.

Run a normal cleaning.

All set
NOTE: you do not need to put the head back in place. when you power on it will automaticly park itself

Scanner leaves three vertical lines on scanned page

Hello,

A dirty glass base can cause ‘spots’ or blemishes to appear on your final printout. Additionally, if you had some sort of opaque liquid that may have transferred on to the glass base from a previous operation. But the majority of the unwanted vertical lines are generally caused by either a dirty or damaged print roller or faulty LEDs in the Scanner Module.

To separate one from the other you have to check the following:

Do you only see the lines with a Scan operation?
Do your print jobs print fine without any unwanted lines?

If you only see the unwanted lines during a Scan operation, then most likely you have a fault/dirty/obstructed LED module.

If you see the unwanted lines with all print operations (Scan, Print and Copy), then you most likely have a worn out, damaged or dirty Print Roller.

Hope this helps…

  1. Open Cover AB of the printer.
  2. Open the cover below the paper path roller.
  3. With a clean dampened cloth, wipe the pickup roller.
  4. Close Cover AB.
If the glass on the print head filter is dirty with toner, wipe it with a clean cloth. A vertical white line may appear in the printout. Follow the steps below:
  1. Open the front cover.
  2. Tilt the waste toner collector and pull it out.
  3. Grasp the handle of the print head filter with your fingers and gently pull it straight out of the slot. (**Note: Be careful not to spill toner that has accumulated on the print head filter. )
  4. With a clean cloth, wipe the glass surface of print head filter.
  5. Hold the print head filter by the handle and gently insert it all the way into the slot.
  6. Reinstall the waste toner collector.
  7. Close the front cover.
The print quality problem might be something as simple as turning off the Toner Save mode using the printer driver or the printer's control panel menus.
There may be a problem with the photoconductor unit. You may need to replace the photoconducter unit.
Or it might be something rather more serious (hopefully, not)Print out a status sheet. If a blank page is ejected, the problem may be with the printer. Turn off the printer and contact your dealer.
