Try to replace the printer head cable, the flat white cable connected to it.

You have to set the printing properties to print not in draft mode... it should be in graphic mode... it prints slow but it surely gives you what you want.

It is not the cable... it is the printer setting before you print, change it to normal mode printing then try to print.

Usually happens when print heads have been damaged usually from inferior inks have print heads replaced if possible, If it is only happening with particular software try another printing program, If problem is present still either repair print heads if possible otherwise replace printer. It would appear you have blocked nozzles in the print head. power off and remove the print head. Take a damp piece of kitchen roll and gently wipe the heads in one direction only. Now move the carriage out of the way and where it normally parks (on the right side of the machine) you will see the purge unit and its two oblong rubber seals. next to the seals is a wiper (like and upside down wiper blade). This wipes the heads during cleaning.Clean this with a damp cotton bud. Refit the head and perform head cleaning again. If this still fails then a new print head is required.

When I print a photo, vertical lines appear throughout the photo. The ink cartridges are new. No error message appears on screen.

Hello,

Please state the model of your printer.

Vertical lines appears on prints because the nozzles on your print head are blocked, it doesn't means all nozzles but some of your nozzles are blocked. A print head of an inkjet consists of many tiny little pores or nozzles, through which jets of inks are sprayed on the photo paper to create an image, if some of this tiny pores are blocked print outs deteriorates, so cleaning the print head is an option if your printer has print head inside the printer you can first clean it through the head cleaning option present in the maintainence tab of your printer software, for printers that have print head on the cartridges, you can add a few drops of isopropryl alcohol on the print head and leave it for a minute and put it back on the printer and run the head cleaning utility of your printer software.

Hope this helps you.

Vertical print residue left about half inch past the longest line printed

inside the front cover, under where the head parks, you will find a vertical wiper. Clean it.

Power off. open front door. push down cutter (blue) and slide head to the left. To the right of the cleaning pad is the wiper. clean with rubbing alcohol on both sides.

Run a normal cleaning.

All set
NOTE: you do not need to put the head back in place. when you power on it will automaticly park itself

Scanner leaves three vertical lines on scanned page

Hello,

A dirty glass base can cause ‘spots’ or blemishes to appear on your final printout. Additionally, if you had some sort of opaque liquid that may have transferred on to the glass base from a previous operation. But the majority of the unwanted vertical lines are generally caused by either a dirty or damaged print roller or faulty LEDs in the Scanner Module.

To separate one from the other you have to check the following:

Do you only see the lines with a Scan operation?
Do your print jobs print fine without any unwanted lines?

If you only see the unwanted lines during a Scan operation, then most likely you have a fault/dirty/obstructed LED module.

If you see the unwanted lines with all print operations (Scan, Print and Copy), then you most likely have a worn out, damaged or dirty Print Roller.

Hope this helps…
