You can take music off a CD and put it on the player but you must first "rip" the music to your hard drive. The term "rip" just means taking the audio from the CD and converting it to a file format, such as .mp3, and storing it on your PC's hard drive. You will need a ripping program for that such as Media Monkey http://www.mediamonkey.com.
