My home lap top router has locked and wont let me open google. It is asking me to to put in user and password.. Telling me user is "root", I cant remember password as in 2/3 years I have never been asked for this before.. I cant access internet at all....
Hi,
The only solution for u to login in to the router is to reset the router.
1.If you forgot your password, you must reset your router. Unfortunately this process will change all your settings back to the factory defaults.
2.To reset the router, locate the reset button (hole) on the rear panel of the unit. With the router powered on, use a paperclip to hold the button down for 10 seconds. Release the button and the router will go through its reboot process.
3.Wait about 30 seconds to access the router.
4The default IP address is 192.168.1.1. When logging in, type in the default User Name “admin,” and the
default Password “admin” then click on the OK button to access the web-based manager.
