Any computer or laptop cannot read or detect my buffalo external HD.every time i plug it in, i would hear a sound that indicates it is plugged in yet, when i check my computer, i cannot find it there.

If You have a yellow Triangle, you know the one you deleted, it means that there is no driver, or the wrong driver is installed for those plugins! then I would say that You need drivers for your USB plugins! If you have the drivers disk that came with your PC/laptop, reinstall them, or go online to the maker of your PC/laptop and get the drivers from them! after reinstalling USB drivers. If it still is unrecognized, try a different USB cable form hard drive to PC.

Forgot external drive password

If there isn't any data on there that you need, you can try formatting it. If you didn't make a recovery disk, or make any note of the password, formatting may be the only solution.

How do i recover serial number on buffalo ministation HD-PNTU3

Load Nas Navigator2 and it will bring up it's built-in web page. When it finds it it will display it's properties inc. serial number. The default user is 'admin' and the password is 'password' as default.. unless you have changed that. If that doesn't work look to Buffalo Support as they are very good.
