Enter service mode and clear counter for drum, then power off the machine remove drum cart. then remove drum and replace with new one recommended that developer also be replace at the same time clear that counter first along with drum counter. once drum and developer replaced run F8 in service mode before making any copies or prints or will have to do it all over again.

How to reset " replace drum" for brother MFC-7860DW

Time to really order a new drum and really replace with a new one.
Resetting the drum unit will not improve print quality. It only resets your drum and allows you to continue to print. You decide when to replace the drum unit not the manufacturer!

1.Remove the drum unit and toner cartridge. Wait 1 or 2 minutes.
2.Replace the drum unit and toner cartridge into printer.
3.The error message "Change Drum Soon/Drum end soon" will continue to appear if the drum counter was not reset when you replace the drum unit.
4.To clear this error message, you need to reset the drum counter as instructed below.
5.Make sure that the machine is turned on.
6.Press Options.
To confirm you are installing a new drum, press 1.
7.When the LCD shows Accepted, close the front cover.
8.Your drum is now reset.

I just replaced my Muratec F-305 drum DK 203OUS with new one and the red warning dot comes up and says "Drum near end" with the new drum. What is wrong?

Yes, the display was saying "drum near end"....it was not saying to replace the drum,... you only replace the drum when it says "replace drum"....right now you have b;own the fuse in the new drum because you replaced it TOO SOON. You will have to find someone to replace the mini-fuse in the drum cartridge...it will still be ok...but soon you will not be able to print on the machine,,,READ THE USERS MANUAL.

Intellifax 2800 does not register new drum. I put in new drum and it is extremely light copies and is stll telling me to replace drum soon

If you replaced the drum with a new one, then a special plastic piece with slots in it will be ejected. This will reset the "Replace Drum" message. Now the light print is probably due to the toner needing replacing. When you put in a new drum, it needs new toner too. Unfortunately, most people replace the toner into the old drum, which does no good and becomes wasted. NEW DRUM NEW TONER. Now if you have replaced the old drum with another old drum, you won't get the reset done properly and the new drum won't load any toner either. Perhaps you accidentally removed the plastic sheet when you replaced the drum? Well then, find the piece and run it through the paper feed, it will then reset. Best of luck

New drum

It is important that you replace the drum when the machine is saying "REPLACE DRUM"...NOT when it is saying "REPLACE DRUM SOON".
When the machine says "SOON" it is advising to have a drum on-hand ready for replacement. The machine will still be able to print pages. When the machine says "RPLACE DRUM" it will no longer print and a new drum cartridge must be installed to reset the indicator.

Alarm says replace drum soon. Can the message be

The "replace drum soon" indicater is a warning for you to have a new replacement drum "on-hand". Soon the display will change to "REPLACE DRUM" AT WHICH TIME THE UNIT WILL STOP PRINTING.
When the new drum cartridge is then installed...the REPLACE DRUM indicator will be reset. DO NOT replace the drum before the machine says to.

Replacing Drum Catridge

Hello, Here are the steps involved in replacing the drum assembly as copied from a users manual:

DRUM CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT
The useful life of the drum cartridge is approximately 18,000 copies. When the internal counter reaches approximately 17,000 copies, the drum replacement required indicator will light up indicating that replacement of the drum cartridge will be needed soon. When the indicator begins to blink, the unit will stop operating until the cartridge is replaced. Replace the drum cartridge at this time.

1 Remove the TD cartridge (Toner Cartridge). Hold the drum cartridge handle and
gently pull the cartridge out. Dispose of the old drum cartridge in accordance with local regulations.
3 Remove the new drum cartridge from the protective bag and remove the protective cover from the cartridge. Then gently install the new drum cartridge.

When closing the covers, be sure to close the front cover securely and then close the side cover. If the covers are closed in the wrong order, the covers may be damaged. Do not remove the protective cover on the drum portion (black paper) of
a new drum cartridge before use. The cover protects the drum against external light.
Do not touch the surface of the drum (green portion) of the cartridge. Doing so may cause smudges on the copies.

4 Gently install the TD cartridge. Close the front cover and then the side cover by pressing the round projections near the side cover open button. The drum
replacement required indicator will go out and the start indicator will light up.
