my 42 inch sagem tv is overheating, the red light comes on, then 2 lights come on and then turns off, and light stays on. and only turns off when you disconnect tv. When i turn on the tv after 1 min the light flashes, the tv turns off and the light stays on.

My uncles TV which is a Samsung LA32R81BD model (I'm guessing very old), was working fine til just now when it started turning itself off then back on a few moments later. Then it turned off and will not turn back on. I tried unplugging it from the wall and waiting, but still nothing. It also makes a weird noise very intermittently.

Is there any fix, or is the TV done for. Like I said its pretty old, my nan & pop were using it when they were alive.

Whats the Model number that is printed on back of TV?

call a technician to look for it. there must be loose components inside

One of two things can be the problem...one the bulb is bad...two the ballast is bad. If the bulb is not bad then the ballast is...it can usually be fixed by replacing a resistor on the board itself...it is labeled R3 and is a 1000 ohm resistor

when i turn my 32 inch VIVIO plasma tv on it turns pff by itself. i want to know why this is happening

According to Sharp it is a software problem. Engineer came, installed software update ,10 minute job.....TV worked fine for 1/2 day unfortunately: Then images turned black and white in all channels TV turned itself off, and stanby and OPC buttons started flashing. When TV came back on its own 10 mins later , screen had 2 large square staines superimposed in image (as if it was a burnt screen)...Engineer will be back next week...all quite sad really for a new TV.....will keep u posted
