I have a problem with the 12 year old Maytag dryer. Unfortunately I don't know the exact model. I opened the dryer and it looks like the belt is broken.
It would be great if somebody in San Diego area can come to my house to estimate the problem.

How old is the appliance?
If the appliance is 10 years old or more you it may not be advisable to put good money into bad!
New appliances are so much more efficient today that they can save you a lot of money in energy!!!!

Go to repairclinic.com and click on the "Repair Help" link at the top of the page. On the following page, locate the "Dryer Belt Diagrams" link under the "Special Features" section. Scroll down to Maytag. The dryer belt diagram for Maytag should be listed as diagram E. I hope this helps you.

it could be done by taking the control panel off and maybe diconnecting the buzzer other than that what I have researched there is no other way sorry

Most of the time these models have screws in the back of the machine on the top lid. You'll need to get over behind the dryer to access this panel. You'll need a "star" type screwdriver (most come in a set). Remove the top lid to expose the drum. The belt will run around the drum and down around the safety cut out switch. This switch is most likely a teflon or plastic wheel that the belt loops around. After installing the belt, replace all of the screws and you're good to go!
