This set has 3 CRT's (picture tubes)
Remove the back bottom cover
Clean the CRT's with windex and a soft cloth.
(Find the Screen/Focus block)----Remove front grill cover and panel which covers the Screen/focus block.
Cover 2 crt's and adjust the focus control for remaining crt---(using the convergence pattern in the menu for the set)
adjust for the best focus.
cover that crt and move on to the next crt using the same procedure.
After setting the focus on all 3 tube's you will have the best focus possible for this set. If picture is still bad, you have bad crt's and the set is junk.
Cost to replace the CRT's is enormous!

You need to check the resolution of your TV thru your input setting, try to check which will give better picture quality between 1080 or 720 settings. Also secure that your input setting as either HDMI 1 or 2 or 3, you can use the original remote and change setting by pressing input in cycle.

I just bought a new lamp 3 months ago, and the screen is now very dark. With the brightness all the way up the picture is dark.

Hi,

Your most likely fault is bulb failure. The only way to confirm a weak bulb situation is to replace with a known "good" bulb. Maybe your replacement bulb is not the correct one, or has a problem, like damage from shipping or poor quality to start with. We hear from many users that buy el cheapo bulbs from Internet shopping carts and have failure within 30-90 days. Many shopping carts churn out inferior copies, surplus or rejected products ranging from TV parts to doll clothes and costume jewelry.

Premature lamp failure can also occur with rough use such as:
  • Turning off TV and starting again while still hot.
  • TV turned on while Lightning strikes or other power line "bumps" occur.
  • Collisions with vacuum cleaners or balls bounced against TVs while operating.
  • Over-heating caused by poor ventilation or direct sunlight.
You may also have optical engine failure if images on the Sony Optical Engine Fault Gallery appear with the dim picture.

The picture quality is very poor. Picture is fuzzy.

Did you turn the ring on the camera itself? The camera does not automaticaly adjusts itself. You must turn the lens to focus manualy.

If nothing works and you just bought this camera, call microsoft and they will help you more.

Xerox Documate 152 - Scan quality is now V.BAD!

I would go to Xerox.com and look up their knowledge base. Here is a copy of data from their site related to this problem:

Symptom: Scanned images have poor image quality, are fuzzy, unclear, or hard to read.
Cause: There are several things that can lead to poor image quality including the scan settings, dirt on the scanner, and driver problems. Solution: Note: If you scan as a PDF file and your scans look fuzzy when viewed in PaperPort, try right clicking on the file and selecting "Open" to open them in Adobe Reader. If they display fine in Adobe Reader then there is nothing wrong with the scans, it is simply that they are not being displayed well in PaperPort.

The following solutions can help resolve poor scan quality.

Solution 1 - Adjust the scan settings

Try increasing the resolution of your scan. 300 dpi to 400 dpi should be clear for most images
  • If you are scanning in Black and White, try Grayscale or Color. Some images will not display correctly in Black and White
  • You can also try adjusting the brightness and contrast
  • Note: For information on adjusting your scan settings, refer to the user guide for your scanner
Solution 2 - Clean and Calibrate the scanner

Note: Calibration only applies to sheetfed scanners.

Use the link below for instructions on cleaning and calibrating (if applicable) your scanner:
Solution 3 - Reinstall the scanner driver Select a link below for instructions on reinstalling your scanner driver:
