My PS2 wont read any discs.

Rarely, my black PS2 slim will read discs but when a disc is read, there is a strange scratching noise going on. I have no idea what is going on! I need help. I've had this PS2 for over 2 years. Should I fix this problem myself? Can you help me? I NEED a solution.

My ps2 slim wont read god of war II disc but it reads all my other games just fine so please i need a solution

God of War II being one of the few Dual-Layer discs on the PS2, it is possible that your problem originates from your PS2 lens being unable to read it correctly. The PS2 Slim is supposed to be able to read Dual-Layer, thus you should try cleaning your lens, it may be dirty, leading to this kind of error while still able to read Single-Layer discs.

Screech noise from ps2 slim

Sounds like the laser may have gone bad on your system, try this - use compressed air to clean out the system, where the laser is, and other openings on the device. Then clean your game disc with a CD/Game Disc cleaner (bought at any gaming stores), try this. If this doesnt fix the problems then i would contact SONY and have them replace your system or atleast maybe they could try to fix it. Good Luck!

When i on my ps2 some sound comes frm the machince & the disc could not been read

The Sound from the Machine is probably the cooling system if it's not a Slim. As for the "Disc could not be read" see if there are any scratches on the disc.

On my ps2 after reading its disc, message will appear "disc read error"

Hello, you are most probably using a PS2 Slim, they have a very sensitive Lens Radiance. If the CD is a little scratched, a CD lens cleaner could help. Or if it is not a PS2 Slim, it must just require a CD lens Cleaner :)

Long Loads and Lagging

A couple things come to mind. If the lens is dirty, then there will certainly be issues with load times, or load failure. Check your game discs for scratches and scuffs. If a disc has a scratch or too many scuffs on it, it will make it difficult for the laser to read.
Clean your discs, and clean your ps2 lens with a basic ps2 laser cleaning kit. You should be able to find them anywhere.
I don't recommend cleaning the lens without a kit if you are not familiar with the internals of a PS2 or cleaning electronic components. If after cleaning your disc and lens it still gives you issues, there is an angle adjustment gear in the ps2, but we'll cross that bridge only if the cleaning doesn't work.

Guitar Hero World Tour PS2

If you have old ps2(fat one) or some of the older slim models they are unable to read the new dual layer discs like GHWT. You can send your ps2 back to sony to reformat it to be able to read these new discs for about $50. There is currently a class action lawsuit against sony and activision for not being upfront about this problem.

PS2 Slim Line Prblem !!!

Lenses adjust their distance on ur disc, the harder they can read it, the nearer it goes on the disc...can it still read other discs? if it wont, then ur lens is damaged because of too much scratches, and if it does happen, u have no other choice but to repalce lenses...and by the way, there's an adjustment under these lenses that determines its distance on the disc, but before adjusting it, you should know what ur doing, coz it miht damage the lenses, again....

PS2 Slim Line Problem

The problem is with the disc drive itself. Most common problem is the give in the spindle starts to go and gets to be to much and you get floating of the disc while in play. If the system is still in waranty I would sudgest contacting the MFG and getting it fixed or replaced. If not in waranty then your only other choice is to find another system for cheap and rape it for parts and replace the drive.
