System does not show light scribe svc available

Copy light scribe information? No it won't. If your burner supports light scribe you have to start a editor for light scribe and putt the information there manually and then burn it on a light scribe disc.

Insert your writeable or rewriteable DVD into your writeable DVD drive.

Click on your start menu and select "All Programs," "Nero" and "Nero StartSmart."
Locate the pull-down menu at the top of the window that shows "CD" displayed.

Click on the arrow to view the rest of the menu and select DVD.
Find the icons under the pull-down menu you just used.

Click on the "Data" icon. Then click on "Make Data DVD."

This isn't particularly uncommon on the hardware or software side. Some brands just don't particularly play with all formats on all speeds of media or all software and yes, sometimes it will burn but not play back. You can try to update your drivers but there's no guarantee that will work, but it's one of the few alternatives you have. If the recording speed and playback is that much of a concern, consider getting a new one from a different manufacturer.
You didn't mention what version of Nero you are using nor did you mention your Operating System is. These are important factors to consider as well. I had the full version of Nero 6 and I tried to run it on my Vista SP2 system. It didn't like it at all so now I just use the OEM version that came with burner when I bought the computer in 2009. You might want to try another burning software just to see if there's a difference.

Burn whatever you want,, so long as the disc are labeled as Rewritable (RW on the disc) To make it easy use Nero express or google"free Burners"
Windows also heas a free burner.

I would try simply copying one of the already completed discs using a stable and well known burning program like Nero. Programs like Pinnacle can be very temperamental when exporting their projects to disc.

try using nero burning rom latest version that will allow you to use the lightscribe function, but that only in the moment you have a light scribe unit on it.. from what i know the Satellite L305D-S5940 doesent have a light scribe unit

Maybe you'll need a cd/dvd burner like Nero 9 or maybe the Nero 7 would do...
that's the best application for burning movies you make... and slide show pictures...
be also aware of the formats you used in saving your work in msn movie maker.... use (.avi) in save as type:

There might be a problem with your dvd lense of your dvd burner,sometimes it happen when the burner software dont recognise cd or dvd..also i would like to suggest you to use original burner software for burning cd dvd's...sometimes it also happen that the burning software dont burn certain types of audio or video files.for eg nero 6 dont convert .vob files to convert.

I Have had this problem as well.  First, go to nero's website, and download the latest version for your edition I know that if you use Nero 7 if wont work without the update.  Also, check and make sure that you have the latest drivers and firmware for the drive, as this can also cause it to not be detected.  Also, try a different Litescribe program, and see if it works that way.  

try using different media ( non light scribe ) and second try using a program such as nero premium or easy media creator 9/10.Most of my dvd's have been successful with good quality especially with nero ultimate/premium
