and download "Ashampoo Burning Edition 6". It is _free_ software.
Version 9 of the software is better, but it's not free.

I don't have any substitutes for the LightScribe software.

Is your dvd drive capable of doing light scribe?: If not, then the driver won't make it work. It takes a special drive to use lightscribe, and it should be part of your CD/DVD burner software. I highly recommend Nero software as the best, more reliable and easiest to use. Also, it the brand that usually comes with New CD and DVD drives.

There could be many reason for this problem but the most common one is the hardware connection. Try and follow the below steps which might resolve your problem:

1) Open your CPU and remove all the cables connected to your CD Drive. Try and clean the drive off any dust and then plug it in again. Most of the time this resolve the issue.

2) If the above option does not work, just restart your computer and when your computers starts again, start pressing the "Del" key. this will open up the BIOS for your system. There search for avalibale devices. Make sure that your secondary drive is your CD drive and enable.

Try the above steps and if that does not resolve the problem, please reply back and we will move to the next step of troubleshooting your issue.

I have LG Light Scribe too, i recommend to you use Nero 8,
just install Light Scribe driver from Nero site and you automatically got Light Scribe DVD option when you doing New Project in Cover Designer, if you dont have Nero you can get free alternative at lightscribe.com named Lightscribe Template Labeler

get on the computer manufacturers website and download the drivers for your dvd on there.

go to lighstrcribe.com and dowload all the software there.
there are special programs/drivers there that you need to have.
then reboot and nero should pick it up

You are to clean registry manually now. Nero still has leftovers in there.

U can manually install to open the cd and check the .exe files. Just click that files it will automatically installed. Plz change the drive (not in c:\) when u install.

THIS DID IT TO ME 3 DAYS AGO.  I'M NOT SURE HOW IT CAN JUSR DISAPPEAR AFTER USING IT, BUT IT DID.  WHEN I WENT TO BURN THE LABEL IT REDIRECTED ME TO THE WEBSITE TO DOWNLOAD A GENERIC LIGHTSCRIBE.  I HAVE A DVD ISSUE NOW AND UNINSTALLED THE PROGRAMS THAT CAME WITH THE WRITER AND MY ORIGINAL LIGHTSCRIBE REAPPEARED!  I DON'T REMEMBER THE WEBSITE, BUT TRY A SEARCH FOR "GENERIC LIGHTSCRIBE"
