My player does not always turn on. I try the remote and push the button. Nothing! I unplug and replug Nothing! And then sometimes it will turn on! Any suggestions?

Vizio TV model E371VL turned on ok and had tv show on ch.4.
Turned on the DVD player and put movie dvd in and closed tray.
We have done thhis numerous of times and never had a problem.
This time " HDMI " was showing on top right of black screen,
then " No Signal " came up on screen, then went completely black screen. Called Vizio, they had me power off and unplug set.
Push and Hold power button on TV for 30 sec. to reset.
Replug set and Vizio (lighted) on lower front of set lighted normally dull orange. Pushed power button on remote and when set did not come on, then push main power button on side of TV. Nothing, no White " Vizio " from orange light. Is this a power supply (0500-0412-1020) problem ? Thanks, Sidney ([email protected])

Did the light start blinking? Unplug the USB cable from the scanner, and replug.

These DLP tvs sometime u unplug suddenly and replug it back wright away,tv will go into protective mode and will not work wright away.Tries tv unplug,replug it back about an hour later,now the tv will reset itself back to the factory setting.The tv should work now.

There's a few things you can try. Turn off unit, unplug from AC for 5 minutes or so, plug back in, turn unit on, hit eject/open.
OR..same as above, but hold the eject/open button, then turn unit on.

Sometimes a combination of these odd procedures actually work. Sometimes holding the stop button, and hitting eject/open works too. Hope this is helpful.

try unplugging it for about 2 minutes to clear some memory and try it again. the tray motor may be shot or skipped a tooth on the gear and not hitting the switch. you may need to take the cover off and physically do it.

a fuse may need to be replaced

Most likely it's your memory ic (eprom). Sometimes depending on the make, an authorized service center can flash the eprom back to normal. This is something you can not do but I hope this helps a little.

Is tape(s) in the unit? Are they "shuttling" when you try to power up?...accordianman

The aswer is in the manual that can be had on line, page 45. You have 3 different remote types, 1,2,3, All you have to do is hold down the ENTER button and the number 1 or 2 or 3 on the remote for a few seconds and it will change the setting.
