Follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

  1. Exhaust fan motorIf your exhaust fan motor is not running, there are a couple of things that you can check involving the motor to locate the problem. After removing the fan motor, you can manually attempt to turn the fan blades with your hand. If the fan motor is working properly, the blades should spin effortlessly. If this does not occur and the blades are taught, the motor will need to be replaced. Secondly, the fan motor itself can burn out due to time and usage. Using an ohm meter, the exhaust fan motor should read open for continuity. If it does not, then the fan motor has expired and will need to be replaced.
  2. ThermostatAnother part that could cause the microwave exhaust fan to not work is a faulty thermostat. A thermostat gauges the air temperature, which activates the exhaust fan when required. If this part becomes flawed, the exhaust fan will not energize and the thermostat will need to be replaced.
  3. Main control boardIf your exhaust fan is still not working and the microwave fan motor, wiring, and thermostat are operating accurately, the root cause could be with the main control board. Replace the main control board.

Does the maytag mmv1164ww1 micro/hood combo require outdoor venting?

No .. it can also be recirculated . you will need charcoal filters if you do so. There is a specific charcoal filter for each microwave hood. Any appliance part dealer would carry it ( you will need to give them the micro hood model number ) or you can order them online through Whirlpool parts website ( whirlpool owns maytag)

My Micro vents into the kitchen instead of venting up the exhaust vent. What could be wrong

Hi,

The fans on an over the stove microwave can be rotated up to 180 degrees depending on how the installer intends to vent the hood. Your fan is pointed forward and venting into the kitchen through a charcoal filter. If you want to vent through the ducting and out of the kitchen, you'll have to drop the microwave down off of the mounting bracket and rotate the fans in the back, pointing the dicsharge upward for a vertical vent, or 180 degrees, if it discharges out the back (wall vent). In both cases, an adapter is necessary, and can be obtained at any hardware store.
Best regards, --W/D--

Can't remove the vent grill

Two problems found. The electrician that installed the micro. installed it incorrectly. The fan was supposed to be turned so that the exhaust would go through the pre-installed duct in the wall. To remove the grill, there is two screws on top of the micro. which have to be removed. The builder put in a deeper cabinet that covers the screws because it looks better. To fix it I have to drop the micro, take off the grill, clean it and all the grease off the micro., replace the charcoal filter, turn the fan so it will exhaust through the duct and reinstall the micro.

Where is the charcoal filter?

There is no charcoal filter unless you replaced the standard filter with a carcoal filter. Also, it may have m=been changed to a charcoal filter if the unit was alterd during installation as a re-circulating vent, not vented to the outside via the roof or wall.

The filter (Charcoal or not) is on the bottom of the unit. Put your head under the microwave and look up, there it is.

GE Spacemake XL1800 whines every time it cooks works great the

The charcoal filter must be changed every 6-12 months, depending on how much and how the oven is used.

If a filter clogs, it will interfere with cooling and lead to magnetron damage.

It may also be putting a strain on the cooling fan or hood vent exhaust fan, or one of those fans may have a blade loose on the motor shaft.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts (including filters) by entering your full model number here.

Exaust vent/ fan very weak

In your duplicate post, you mentioned your model, so here you go:

This is due to poor air flow, either to a blockage or a problem with the internal cooling fan or hood vent exhaust fan.

Are the grease filters or charcoal filter clogged?

You may want to check your owner's manual for info on checking the filters. Grease filters can be cleaned, but charcoal filters must be replaced about every 6-12 months.

The installation manual will tel you if there's some error in the installation setup.

You can download Maytag owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

How to clean the air filter of my goldstar microwave model # MV1526B/01

That sounds like the charcoal filter. It cannot be cleaned, and must be replaced. From the owner's manual:

CHARCOAL FILTER REPLACEMENT

If your oven is vented inside, the charcoal filter should
be replaced every 6 to 12 months, and more often if
necessary. The charcoal filter cannot be cleaned.

To order a new charcoal filter, contact the Service
Center.

1. Remove the two vent grille mounting screws.
(2 middle screws)

2. Tip the grille forward, then lift it out

To get a new filter, you can try local appliance parts stores or see customer service or find servicers here: http://us.lgservice.com

Charcoal Filter Replacement

Be sure the oven is disconnected from the wall first. Then open the door. Remove the two screws from the top of the grille. Next, slide the grille to the left to remove it. Before you slide the charcoal filter out, be sure to note how it rests at an angle on 2 side support tabs and in front of the right rear tab. After it's replaced, you can press OPTIONS until you come to the Charcoal Filter Reminder. Then you can press 0 to turn the reminder off, press 1 to set the reminder, or press 3 to turn the reminder on.
