I have a JVM1860 which recirculates. I am getting a reminder to replace the charcoal filter, but the instructions are not working. It says to remove the two screws on top of the vent to remove the vent, but there are no screws visible. There are only two screws behind the stainless steel vent door which flips down. I removed those screws but they don't appear to be holding the vent frame on. Please help?
Be sure the oven is disconnected from the wall first. Then open the door. Remove the two screws from the top of the grille. Next, slide the grille to the left to remove it. Before you slide the charcoal filter out, be sure to note how it rests at an angle on 2 side support tabs and in front of the right rear tab. After it's replaced, you can press OPTIONS until you come to the Charcoal Filter Reminder. Then you can press 0 to turn the reminder off, press 1 to set the reminder, or press 3 to turn the reminder on.

I have the same model. There are 2 sscrews that hold the grill cover on. One problem might be that your cabinet are covering those screws. They are both located about 1" back from the front edge of the door. The left side is about 3.5" from the left edge & the right side is 8.25" from the right side of the unit. My cabinets are 12" deep & I am able to access the grill cover screws with no problems.

This is directly from the directions that I have, but there are no "two screws" at the top of the grill. Where are these mysterious screws?
Remove vent
You might check in the vent itself.. I think it is the third vents in from both the left and right. You may need a flash light.
