Hp psc 2210 all in one series printer: align cartridge repeatedly

Repeatedly flashes: align cartridges, press enter to align.
when i do it starts to align but then stops and reads: Paper to narrow. Load wider paper then press enter. (I am using regular paper 81/2 x 11)
*on a side note: when i try to open it to see the cartridges, it seems to not open properly or all the way and the cartridge is pushed over to the right so can't see it or access it.

    yes,it did and i am thankful. i am wondering however...will this affect my printer and/or print quality by simply bypassing the alignment? i would still like to know how to properly align the cartridge by finding the true solution to the original problem posted.

Bypass the allign cartridge function bu pressand holding settup then press option. The printer will immediately acccept orders.

Do a powerflee of the printer..
take out the black cart. Unplugged all cables
including powercable. press and hold the powerbutton for 30 sec then put back the cable and the black cart.

Message: "Press Enter to align cartridges" When I do that it starts to do the alignment, then stops and repeats the message. It also won't print.
My thought is that one or both of your cartridges are no good. The printer will not print until it knows the alignment is good.

You press Enter , but the error message does not go away ? You have to bypass the cartridge alignment -
  1. Press and hold the Setup button.
  2. Press the Options button. The printer should be ready to print.

Try removing the ink cartridges and cleaning the electrical both on the ink and iside the unit with some rubbing alcohol and qtip then reseat them back into the unit and see if that works

Press enter to align cartridges is diplayed and when you press enter it starts the alignment process and after a few seconds it says alignment cancelled and it goes back to displaying the same error...
