Aspire one d257-13473 wont factory reset

Windows key > All programs >Acer Empowering Technology>eRecovery management>Restore>Factory(Top of list)..

Or

If computer will not boot.
Tune computer ON
When Acer splash is on screen hold Alt and keep pressing F10...

Select factory from top of list.
You will need a password , the default is "000000" (Six zeros).

Recommend you use the first option if you can...
1. Power on the machine.
2. At the ACER BIOS screen, hold the "Alt" key and press the "F10" key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery. The window of opportunity is very small, so this may take a few attempts.
3. Once eRecovery has loaded, click "Restore to Factory Default Settings" (the password is six zeros, 0.0.0.0.0.0.).
4. Click "OK" to continue.
5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore the factory image (approximately 10 minutes).
6. Once eRecovery has run, press "OK" to reboot unit.

***This will erase all your unsaved data!***

Or

Running System Recovery from Windows

1. Click Start>All Programs>Acer Empowering Technology.
2. Select Acer eRecovery Management.
3. Select Restore (bottom of eRecovery screen).
4. Select Restore system to factory default (the password is six zeros, 0.0.0.0.0.0.).

3. Select Reinstall Windows and follow prompts.

Im trying to reset my whole computer back to factory settings and dont have the cd. and i do have the empowering technology thing but dont have the password to that the hint is balloon and i dont even know...

The default empowering password is 000000. That would be five or six zeros, I am fairly certain it is 6. You will need to boot from the original C drive for the factory restore to work. Once you enter the password in the empowering technology, you should find the option for a full factory restore.

Hope this helps

How can i reformat my laptop on CD acer aspire 3000

Using Acer eRecovery Management
You can launch Acer eRecovery Management in a number of ways:
Acer eRecovery Management requires a password to activate. The default password is six zeros (0s).
Note: These steps will return the system to the original factory installation including all factory installed drivers and applications.
Back up all data prior to using this procedure.
  1. Plug in the AC adapter and battery.
  2. Turn the system on
  3. Immediately, press ALT on the keyboard and start tapping F10.
Continue holding ALT and tapping F10 as the unit boots up.
  4. A screen stating "Starting Acer Erecovery" should appear.
(Release ALT and stop tapping F10 at this point)
  5. There will be 4 options:
    1. Restore system to factory default
    2. Restore system from user backup
    3. Restore system from cd/dvd
    4. Exit
OR
From the Start menu, go to Start > (All) Programs > Empowering Technology > Acer eRecovery Management.
Or try this By clicking on the Empowering Technology icon from your desktop, or pressing the key to launch the Empowering Technology user interface. Select the Acer eRecovery Management icon.

I forgot my empowering technologies password

You will probably have to buy the Recovery CD from Acer. You should be able to do so using your serial number as proof of ownership. This will not work if you have a system (BIOS) password, and booting from the optical drive has been prevented.

Acer Aspire 3620-factory settings

Acer's ship with the factory recovery built into the system. As long as this has not been deleted you should be able to do it.

Click and Start - > All programs

and look for Acer Empowering Technology

Inside that folder there should be a few different programs (dont' have my acer here so i can't remember the names exactly). One of them will allow you to reset from the harddrive and another one will allow you to make your own recovery disks. I would do this first as that way you have a disk that you can put away in the closet in case your harddrive ever dies and needs to be replaced. If that is the case you NEED the disks as the new harddrive would not be setup to do it for you.
