If you want to play DVD from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmware to make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrong firmware the player will be a piece of junk.
The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece of software that allows you to play DVDs from any region. There are several available on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free

Do you mean there is no sound only in media player? You hear sounds in other applications? If so then you have probably muted your player. There is a small speaker icon in the player at bottom of the screen. Just click on it once and you will hear sound again.

Sai.

You need a new DVD codec. If you have a copy of WinDVD, give it an install. Otherwise, try the free codec on www.divx.com.

The eMachines E725 has a built in switch to toggle the touchpad on or off by the touch of a button. Look at the button to the left of the main power switch. You'll notice the icon looks like a hand touching a rectangle - or touchpad. if this button is lit up, the touchpad is turned off. simply press the button to toggle the touchpad back on. The light on the button should now be off.
It's that simple.

Sorry to say, officially Windows XP is no longer available for download as a trial and moreover, it can not be bought from Microsoft's official store. It is so, just because currently Microsoft has ended it's support partially to Windows XP (SP1 & SP2) and Vista (SP1) and will fully end it's support in the Mid of 2014.To know more, visit, http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help/end-support.If still you are willing to have Windows XP, you have to download it online (which will, of course, be illegal) from torrent sites or something like that. But if you love to buy a copy online, you should visit: http://erclk.about.com/?zi=5/2rbmBefore you proceed, you may like to read this article: Where can I download windows XP?.Hope this helps, Mrityunjay.

Tell me if i am wrong, but is that french ? And i have not seen a SiS chipset of any kind for the last 9 years, i thought they died about that long ago. Some manufacturer chipsets were not able to be updated, only by the OEM manufacturer and as such the drivers could not be updated. ( A prime example is the Ferrari 3200 with Ati 128mb gpu only had 1 driver which was created by Acer, tried to update via AMD, but did not recognise the card. The unit is now whats known as "end of service life" and not supported by Acer. As an experiment, have you tried the official drivers from Acer to see if they work ?
