UBYTE4N vertex data doesn't support my computer

Try updating your video card drivers to the latest ones and also update to the latest version of directx.

If you do those two things and call of duty 4 still wont' run then that means the video card doesn't support the game.

Support UBYTE4N vertex data

Hi,
The problem is that your card sounds terrible. Either it is extremely old and outdated (in which case get a new one such as the minimum spec requirements on the box), you only have two options. The first is to take the game back, or the second is to buy a new computer or video card that supports the minimum requirements.
It sounds to me like you are using the on-board graphics port, my advice would be to purchase a new graphics card, anything not under 512MB as most of today's games require 512MB as minimum.

Good luck

Hi, your laptop does not have a compatible graphics card enough to let you play COD 4, COd 4 requires a high end graphics card to play this game. Below are the minimum specifications needed to play this game. CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 2.4 GHz or AMD(R) Athlon(TM) 64 2800+ processor or any 1.8Ghz Dual Core Processor or better supported RAM: 512MB RAM (768MB for Windows Vista) Harddrive: 8GB of free hard drive space Video card (generic): NVIDIA(R) Geforce(TM) 6600 or better or ATI(R) Radeon(R) 9800Pro or better Hope this helps!

Playing Call of duty 4 on vista

could try to add ram. laptops rarely have good video cards for gaming, and its prolly using system ram instead of dedicated video ram. If its using system ram, the reaction time will always be slower than if it had a suficient amount of dedicated video ram.

Update

Hi 2208,

Can you tell me what game you are playing?
It is possible that your video card is underpowered for the game.

If this is the case then there isn't much you can do because the video card is a chipset on your motherboard and cannot be changed without a systemboard replacement...

It depends on the specs your game needs to run.
