Anonymous Posted on Aug 31, 2013

I have bosch classixxKGU34640GB/05 frost free fridge freezer. the freezer food had defrosted and fridge was also warm. alarm red light was on. the light and fan in fridge was working. it is in very good condition but i think it must be 8 - 10 years old. has it died of old age or is it something relatively simple as thermostat, electrics or worse still the condenser? any advice much appreciated. thanks

Replace the relay and the overload on the compressor and you should be good to go. Here is the kit to order.
Here is a video to show you how to replace the relay.

The small drain pipe on the back of the fridge gets clogged, hence no drainage when defrosting, hence ice blocks the airflow between the freezer compartment and the fridge compartment.
Remove the rubber stop from the drain pipe and clean (can be found above the motor)
Defrost the fridge for a few days (it takes at least 48 hours). During this time, if you are not brave enough to remove the internal panels of the freezer and continually clean the water, check for water coming out and clean.
If during the defrost there is no water coming out the drain pipe, use about 2m of flexible and strong wire to clean the pipe.
The aim is to unblock the pipe once the ice has melted.

We have the same and I think it is because the freezer door bounces open when we shut the fridge door. Then the freezer compartment ices up, the fan clogs up with ice and cannot blow cold air into the fridge, and the fridge gets warm and the milk goes off.
Solution? We have bought one of those child safety clips (search for fridge safety clip or lock) to hold the freezer door closed.
Simple design error. Expected better from Bosch :-(

My fridge part of fridge/freezer doesn't work

Post the model number of the refrigerator. Defrost freezer behind where the cold air circulates with a hair drier. (unplug power first!) Most times when a refrigerator side stops cooling it is because the freezer evaporator behind the panel in the back of freezer (most times) has become blocked by frost=> SEE PHOTO Most times the panel before you see the frosted covering the evaporator will begin to show a layer of frost building=> SEE PHOTO (Click each photo to enlarge.) Sometimes the fresh food section of the refrigerator side will warm because ice or frost will block the damper from moving that regulates temperatures in the fresh food section. Sometimes the damper is defective and sometimes the sensor that controls the damper movement is defective. For these reasons it is important that you provide your model numbers so someone knows just what type refrigerator you have to cover all of the possibilities of what may be wrong causing the warming of the fresh food section and soon the freezer section will also begin to warm. The most likely cause are the defrost control, ADC Adaptive Defrost Control, defrost heater, defrost thermostat, air damper and air damper sensors in that order. Let me know what you have and I will try to identify just what may be happening, Thanks Sea Breeze

Hi, I have a Bosch Logixx Fridge/Freezer (frost free), works fine apart from large build up of ice on floor of freezer which I constantly have to remove. Any ideas? Many thanks Peter

Hello
check that it defrost elements (heater elements) are working if they working then check if the sensor is working and if the door is sealing when its closed or if the drain is open.
Thanks

Can't get alarm to turn off while temperature stabilizes

My wife solved it for me :-) You turn the alarm off with a switch at the bottom. The alarm turns off, but the light stays red for another 4 hours. After that the red light goes off too, and you can turn the switch back on without the alarm going off, if the freezer is back to operating temp.

Fridge not getting cold Bosch KGV36390/05

Hi: It shouldn't need a recharge as your freezer is cold, and that's wher the fresh food section gets its cold from via a fan. If your vents are blocked with too much food in the freezer this will happen. If you have a problem with the defrost heater or timer frost will build and block the port to the fan, causing a warm fresh food section. If the circulating fan is out your f.f. section will get warm. It's a small fan not to be confused with the condenser fan below (at the grill.) Here's a question for you. Did the fresh food compartment work for the first week or two? That's how long it would take frost to build and jam the system if your defrost system is out. If this is the case you can unplug it and put your food in a cooler. Melt the frost with a hair dryer carefully avoiding plastic components. It will then work for a week or two before it fails again. It will get you buy until you get service. If you do it yourself... Look for the defrost heater in the freezer and see if the coil of wire in the glass tube is broken. You will need a service manuals or a parts list with a diagram. Sears parts on line has a good database of parts and diagrams. Hope this helped, Jeff

FREEZER WORKING - FRIDGE NOT WORKING

Ok, got it sussed! [well here's what I did anyway]...

Quite simply, I turned off the fridge-freezer at the mains overnight and in the morning, broke and chucked out the ice chunks that had lined up in the bottom of the freezer section and then turned it back on. I returned that night to see that it was working fine again! Hallelujah, I got my fridge back!!

So it seems that all it needed was a good long defrost, so far so good! I hope this solves your problem.
