Mitsubishi vs-55601 55 inch tv

Maybe you can help me. I have a mitsubishi 55 inch model number vs-55601. Its about 6 years old or so, give or take. Has always worked great for us. Yesterday, while watching, it just shut off. When I try to turn tv back on, the green light clicks on for one or two seconds, then tv shuts back off. It won't stay on. I took off the rear panel to try and check for any fuses and maybe see any obvious melt downs or burn spots. Found a few fuses that were good. After reading about this model tv on a couple different sites, it seems as though this is a fairly common problem that seems to happen with this tv. Many have posted discribing the very same situation but I am unable to spot a clear answer to this problem. I am now hoping that someone can some how help me. I just can't afford a new tv at this point in my life. Any input would be most helpful. Please respond to my email address at [email protected] Thank you

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

SOURCE: need help repairing Mitsubishi VS 4541 rear projection TV

I have the same type of TV, and I think it has a filed "power rail", as the LED does not burn at all, nor do the heaters of any of the CRT's. When I plug it in, I can hear the relays click in, and hitting the power button will cause the relays to click. Other than this, there is no sign of life from this TV. I really would like to find a repair manual or a schematic to aid in troubleshooting. The self-diag trick may be handy if the LED would come on. I'll try it and see what it does.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi VS-50705, 50 inch Rear projection TV won't turn on!

most of the time the convergance ic go bad:
but try this:
The 3 flashes of the led when you plug the unit in is the
microprocessor initializing.

This unit has an error code diagnostics.

On the front panel of the unit press and hold the INPUT and MENU
buttons at the same time and hold them down for about 5 or 6 seconds.
The unit should activate it's error code mode.

The led will flash count the number of flashes. It will then pause for
1/2 or 1 second. The led will flash again count the number of flashes.
The unit will repeate this for about 5 or 6 times.

You now have the two digit error code. The first time the led flashed
is the first number of the error code, the next time the led flashed is
the last number of the error code.

12 ----------- indicates no error
21 ------------- X-Ray Protect circuit
22 ------------ Short Protect circuit
23 ------------- Horizontal Deflection failure
24 ------------- Vertical Deflection failure

Most units give a error code "22" short protect circuit. If so check:

Q5A00
C557

If Q5A00 check bad there are other parts that have to be checked or
replaced.

If you are able to do above call a tech to service the unit

SOURCE: 2002 Mitsubishi VS-50111 WIll Not Stay on

FIRST Check for open fuses F9A04 PART # 283P044020 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF fuses are open then convergence output circuit would be your problem.

THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE UNFORTUNATELY WITH SOME 46 INCH MODELS OF MITSUBISHI. YOUR LCD PANEL (MOST MAJOR PART IN TV) IS DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE WARRANTIED FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS.
IT MAY BE ONE OF THE REASONS THEY ARE RESISTING...OOPS I MEAN REQUIRING PROOF OF PURCHASE. IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE I HAVE SEEN A NUMBER OF TIMES NOW.

Mitsubishi VS-8087

There are L and R audio outputs in the rear, so you can hook it up to a surround sound system; no optical outs.
The screen size is 80 inches - but I'm sure your friend told you that.
