Assuming the cables are good etc. this set has 3 hidden menus, one is the OPTION menu which will reset almost all settings back to default.

I have seen it cure no sound, no video, all sorts of odd things--it will not affect convergence which is stored in another area but a missing or non working input it may cure.

I have the 4 number code for doing this but you have to have a working original Mitsubishi remote--universal will not work.

Let me know if you want to try it and I will provide the code and general instructions for doing it.

I had three tv's VS-50607,VS-50605, same problem.I called Mitsubishi and got no help.Took me two years to find because the sets were not acting up when I was there.Last set was out completly with 2-4 code. Found problem to be cold solder connection of DY (Yokes) on vertical .I bent the tip on my Weller gun and used a mirror and soldered. It was a sure repair.I went back to the first set,and soldered and it repaired it!,The second set got junked out before I could get to it.

There's is no reset that can resolve this kind of symptoms because the fault is inside the set. The convergence circuitry gone to malfunction that's why you've encountered that. This circuitry must be check for bad solder joints most especially on the chips (STK392-110). Some instances, re-soldering the joints can resolve the issue.
If the symptoms still persist after the joints has been re-soldered, this is an indication that the chip needs to replace with new one. You must check also the surrounding resistors.
