Mitsubishi VS-50707 shuts down sporadically

My 2000 Mitsubishi VS-50707 will turn itself off sporadically. Sometimes only once over a two week period, other times it will turn itself off 6-10 times in a day. It always takes at least 20-30 minutes to reset and turn back on. If you don't wait, it will just click and turn right back off. Is it time for a new tube or can this be fixed for a minimum charge. I would like to get more than seven years out of a $2200 T.V. Need help please!!!!!

I conducted a self diagnosis and it came up with error code 24. What does this code signify? Thanks for the help.

Having zero knowledge about televisions and there components, is this something that I can fix on my own? Wife is pushing for new T.V. I don't want to cut my losses just yet. What needs to happen to fix the problem?

You can do a self-diagnosis test by pressing the menu and input/device button on set for 5 sec and see what error code it gives you. Count the blinks followed by a short pause then more blinks. This is the error code.

Sorry, it took so long, been on Ctechnicians.com too long, 24 is vertical deflection problems.

You can fix it if you know how to solder. Look for a loose connection around the DY connector on the yoke. Also you need to change C411 and C412

Mitsubishi vs-55707 or vs-50707????? bouncing horizontal lines weird color

If the picture looks like a 3D then you have a convergence failure.
I would suggest to visually inspect the STK Ics for dry or crystallized solder joints.

Check the CRT socket of the tube that is arching. Could be a solder connection or shorted CRT. If you need further assistance let me know.

50707 does not turn on, goes off immediately code 24, relay clicks

1. MAY BE INTERMITTENT, SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK SOLDER CONNECTIONS AT CONNECTOR "DY" ON THE YOKES. 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK C411 2200 UFD 35 V AND C412 10 UFD 50 V, BOTH LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB.
