I'm trying to hookup the bose cinemate speaker system to an insignia tv, polaroid dvd player and at&t uverse cable box. I get speaker sound when watching cable, but when switching to the dvd, there's no speaker sound. is this a connection problem or problem with the programming?

How many audio input does your cinemate have? in case you only have one, you need an audio video switcher. a sample picture of what you need is on this link > http://electronicsusa.com/svs14.html find what you need, that is just for you to see what its look like. another thing is check you dvd if it has a line input - meaning it allows you to connect another source into your dvd such as vhs, cd, mp3. for for audio video - you need 3 wires (video/audio left-right), for stereo audio - 2 wires (left/right connection). some dvd player call it as line1 and line2 inputs. if you have it then you should be ok. 3rd approach, a simple audio mixer with minimum 3 inputs and 1 ouput is enough. note: last thing, check your connection interface for connection compatibility if you plan to buy audio video switcher or audio mixer. hope this help. regards, cebuwano

I have had my Bose Cinemate for a few years, and had it hooked up to a Sony Wega tv with no issues. I just purchased an Insignia tv, trying to upgrade the size of my tv. The problem is, I cannot see that...

The TV probably has a lot of video 'inputs' but very few 'outputs' (outlets??). It's main output is to light the room with moving pictures.

So the unidentified Insignia TV may be a Monitor (no speakers). TV's and Monitors only NEED sources of video. Hi-fi sound systems can (and should) handle all audio duties as that is their specialty.

WHY would anyone NEED audio FROM a TV if the programming for it originates elsewhere like a Cable Box/DVD/SAT which probably has a digital sound output (much better than some old red/white analog stereo-only audio)?

When I hookup my Bose Cinemate System to my new Samsung tv. I am hearing feedback along with the sound. I called Samsung support line and they said it would not be the tv. I haven't talked to Bose yet. I...

You're not supposed to have the TV sound and the Bose osund on at the same time. Due to differences in digital audio processing there will be delays that sound like echo, not feedback.

If you truly have feedback, define the audio connections and exact cabling to/from all components..

How can I hook up my Bose cinemate on my Philips HD tv when no there is no Audio out and I want to use it for my dvd player, cable box, and video systems?

You don't need to send audio TO a TV. I's a TV, not a source of anything. Many of us use monitors (no TV speakers). The Bose speakers are presumably superior to the TV speakers so whatever the TV is watching (cable/sat/dvd) shuld have its own audio.

If your TV does not have any audio output jacks, you can connect the CineMate™ speaker

system to the audio output jacks of another source, such as a DVD player or cable/satellite

box. However, you will hear sound only from the connected source through your CineMate
speakers.

Connecting my HDTV to my Bose Cinemate

If your BOSE system only has one audio input you will have to connect everything to your tv and like the other guy said there will be an audio out on the back of your tv, connect that to your BOSE and when you switch inputs on your tv it should send that audio to your speaker setup.
