Hello Mmlaird,
Sadly...
(because
Bose is small & easy to carry around)...
((probably new & still under warranty))...
For the reasons stated... I would try the
BOSE
first... (however)
"
HUM' in an audio circuit (usu. listening to
LINE
Current) is caused by TWO electrical conditions:
- Shabby wire routing
-
CHEESY capacitors...
I have written a
BOOK-FULL of complaints
about
SAMSUNG'S quality ($$)
decision to use
inexpensive ... CAPACITORS... (in my opinion).
Over the years... I have recognized that SAMSUNG
has become the poster child for bright pictures,
competitive prices... and high FAILURE RATES for
cheesy capacitors...
Good news...
Because of their competitive prices... They are
quite popular...
SPARE PARTS... and REPAIR
kits on
AMAZON (and litigation) bearing the
SAMSUNG name have been quite interesting...
Thusly...
SAMSUNG PARTS ABOUND... (as needed)...
By no means am I saying
SAMSUNG is alone in these
DECISIONS ... I'll only say
BOSE is
not a likely
candidate for MARGINAL PERFORMANCE,
design
or CONSTRUCTION.
Your choice... (my opinion).
Hope I am helping
