Any warranty dealer for Dirt Devil should be able to supply a schematic for that machine. They have access to the dealer web site and can download the information.

SOURCE: Dirt Devil Extreme Quick Vac - Won't turn on

Check that the filters are completely clear and not blocked - especially the top filter on top of the bin assembly. If its clogged completely brush it free of dirt and then reassemble. Make sure the inner cone filter and mesh filter is also completely clean. Then check the hose and main dust channel - something is clogged that makes this machine overheat and stop working - and often with this model (Hoover also make it in the UK under the Alyx name) its down to clogged filters or small clogs of dust in the dust channels.
Don't forget to rate, thanks.

Do my Dirt Devil have a restart button it just stop running

Hi! No the vacuum doesn't have a restart button, but it does have a thermal protector that will shut the vacuum down when it is overheated. If your dirt cup was too full this will activate the thermal protector sensor. Clogs and dirty filters can cause this as well. We recommend emptying the dirt cup, tapping out the filter and checking the hose for clogs. The vacuum will come back on usually within 45 minutes to an hour. Hope this helps. Where is the reset button on the dirt devil featherlite

Hello! There is no reset button on the vacuum. It is equipped with a thermal protector sensor that will automatically shut the vacuum down when it is overheated. A vacuum usually overheats if there is a clog or if the filter needs to be cleaned or replaced.

To check for a clog twist the lower hose off where it connects to the brushes. Use a wooden spoon or something similar to break up and remove any clogs in the lower hose.

Remove the filter from the dirt cup. Tap the filter firmly against the trash can until debris stops falling. If the filter is really dirty it may need to be replaced. I have included a link that you may follow to purchase a replacement filter if needed. Your vacuum will turn back on after it cools down, this can take up to an hour. Hope this was helpful!

Why does the dirt devil breeze turbo shuts off

Hi there! The vacuum is equipped with a thermal protector sensor that will automatically shut the motor down if it reaches a certain temperature. This is usually caused by either a clog or a filter that needs to be cleaned or replaced. Make sure you check both the hoses for clogs and clean all filters properly. If a filter is really dirty it may be time to replace it. Hope this was helpful!

I have a dirt devil featherlite carpet shampooer. It has been a great one for about five years without any problems. I need to know if anyone knows where I can find the replacement filters?

Hi There,

We actually do carry the foam filter for your Dirt Devil Featherlite (also manufactured as the Easy Steamer) carpet cleaner.

According to the Dirt Devil parts diagram for the CE6000, your machine takes the following foam filter. Here's a direct link to the filter on our website:
Dirt Devil Featherlite, Easy Steamer Foam Filter Part# 1-700750-600

Here's a link for the parts diagram for your Dirt Devil Featherlite CE6000 carpet cleaner. This will give you all of the part numbers, and drawings for each part on your machine should need any further parts:
http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/vacuumcleanerbacgs/dirt-devil-easy-steamer-featherlite-ce6000-parts-diagram.pdf

I hope this helped. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to use the comment field here on the repair page to contact me, I'm always happy to answer any follow up questions.

If you found this repair helpful, please be so kind and rate the repair helpful and / or leave feedback for me. Thanks so much!

Over heats and shuts off, wont start again untill it cools off. can maybe vacuum one room before overheating. cyclone tubes are all clean, all hoses & lines are clear. this vacuum is fairly new, not...

The electric motor has a thermal switch and is self-resetting so there is no re-set switch. Make sure the air filter for the exhaust is clean. Also make sure that the height adjustment is not too low causing strain on the motor. Always bring the height down to where the brushes just make contact with the carpet. It is possible that the thermal safety switch is tripping due to a bad switch. In that case I would contact Drit Devil if it is still under warranty.

Stopped working while using..is there a reset button?

There is no reset. There is a thermostat on the motor that shuts down the motor when it gets over heated. Check your filters and bag if you have the bagged type or check your filters and empty the dirt cup if you have the baggless type. Make sure there is no obstruction in the duct hose and the main hose. Check for anything that will not let the air move freely. If you can't get it to operate properly, take it to the shop.
