What is the proper setting for the Temp &Humidity?

Set the temp level at whatever point your home's temperature is now. Lower the humidity level to 35%. If you don't have an LED screen on your unit, set the manual control to maximum. This way, you will extract the maximum amount of humidity and make your home more comfortable.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Got a second-hand Dayton dehumidifier 5BB55 - does it need a filter?

All dehumidifiers need and have a filter, usually already installed in them. Yours may be located behind the front louvers of the unit. Remove the bucket and look just inside the bucket holder at the top, below the louvers. You should see a tab type handle. Pull that down and out. If it's dirty it can be vacuumed or if it's really dirty, wash it with warm water and mild dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly and allow to completely dry before reinstalling it. NEVER operate the unit without the filer in place. Doing so, can cause damage to the unit.

If you don't have one contact Grainger Industrial Supply 1-800-323-0620. As Dayton is a house brand of Grainger. You may want to see if an Owner's Manual is still available for your model. It will be invaluable to you in the future.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

I have the a Kenmore dehumidifier sometimes it runs fine and other times just the fan runs not the compressor or just the opposite the compressor runs not the fan it is only 2 1/2 years old. What should...

Kathy, I'm not sure you have a problem with the dehumidifier. Depending on which mode you're operating it in, the fan will run in an effort to recirculate the air. If the humidity level rises above the level you have the unit set on, the compressor will then turn ON. This is particularly true, if the unit is operating in continual mode. Then there are other times the fan isn't active, but the compressor turns on when the humidity sensor feels a rise in humidity. So, for the most part, I don't think it's a problem.

Just be sure that you clean the air intake filter at least once every two weeks, during times of daily operation.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Whirlpool Gold Dehumidifier -The lights are all working, no fan? Is there a reset ?

You have what Whirlpool calls a Type 3 Control Panel. If you don't have the unit operating in Continuous Mode, the fan will operate only, when the compressor turns on to extract the humidity, based on the level of extraction you have it set on. If you haven't already,.set the control on Maximum and Continuous Mode.

If that doesn't solve the problem, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 15 minutes. After the time has elapsed plug the unit back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Hopefully, the 15 minute timeout, allowed the unit to reset itself and revert back to the original factory settings. If so, you can set the controls as you like.

To further assist you, I have an included a link to your Owner's Manual, in case you have misplaced your. You can download and print it for future reference.

The amp blew in the DD50PC Delonghi and we need to replace it. What is the amp?

rmbm521 - I would like to help you, I have been offering solutions to humidifier problems for some time. But, I have never heard the term "amp", as would apply to a dehumidifier. In most general electrical terms "amp" or "amps" is the amount of electrical draw or use that an electrical appliance uses. It's short for "ampere".

I don't know where you heard it, read it or who told you that. But, they may have been referring to the circuit breaker , that's in your home's circuit breaker panel,. The one that feeds the outlet, the dehumidifier is plugged into. If that's the case, was your dehumidifier tripping one of the circuit breakers in you circuit breaker panel? If that's the case, they meant, the circuit breaker was not rated high enough to carry the load of dehumidifier, when it was in operation.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

DDR2504 dehumidifier has always worked well. Now the fan runs and all seems normal, but the humidity is not dropping and you can tell that the dehumidifier is not cutting in and out. I do not have it on...

derkfarm - It may simply be a case of the humidity extraction level being set to high and/or the air intake filter needs to be removed and cleaned.

Solution: Lower the humidity extraction level to 32 - 35% and clean the air filter.

If the unit is in a basement, the ambient air temperature at floor level is colder than at chest level. Dehumidifiers don't work well at temperatures between 40 - 60 degrees F.

Solution: Set the unit up off the floor on a sturdy table, cabinet, counter top, etc. It must be sturdy enough to handle the weight of the unit, plus a full tank of water and the vibration, while in operation.

Any or all the simple solutions above may solve the problem. But, we won't know, until you try them.

Please let me know if it helped or didn't solve the problem. Thanks.

I lost my manuel for Maytag dehumidifier model M7DH65B2A. May I download a manuel for my dehumidifier?

Hi! Your dehumidifier was made by Fedders for Maytag. However, Fedders as it used to be, not longer exist. It is now Airwell-Fedders. And they don't provide a download feature. However, you can call their Customer Service Dept 866-829-2440, and they may be able to email you a manual for your model. Be sure to have your correct model number handy, when you call.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Have classic dehumidifier model#CDR4500E. Can't adjust it automaticaly to come on or shut off. Don't understand the keypad fuctions, booklet to confusing.

Your dehumidifier preset default humidity level of 70%. Which is rather high, if you're using the unit in the hot Summer months. You can override this setting and lower the humidity level in increments to as low as 35%. Which is ideal during hot, humid weather. The Air Down button lowers the humidity level.Once the level is set, the unit will cycle ON and OFF as necessary, to maintain the level of humidity.

I have looked at the Owners Manual for you unit, and it's very thorough. But, I can understand, if you're not familiar with how the units work, it could be confusing. Page 5, is very informative on how to operate the unit, as far as setting humidity levels, which is what's important. If the operation of the unit continues to be a problem for you, contact Danby Customer Support 1-800-263-2629 and they can walk you through the procedures, while on the phone with them.

Hop this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Unit runs but doesn't collect water and there is a lot of water in the basement. Have had dehumidifier for two weeks and was working well before.

Keep in mind, that a dehumidifier only draws humidity from the air, if the level of humidity is higher than what the controls are set on. For instance, if you have the dehumidifier set on 65 to 70%, that's a high level of humidity to maintain in a house. If you have it set for 35 or 45%, that's a low level of humidity to maintain in a house. Which, generally is what you want to maintain in the hot, humid summer months. Also, it's not uncommon on some dehumidifiers for the fan to almost run constantly. It's designed to keep the air moving, in a effort to detect when the humidity level rises.

Also, a dirty air intake filter makes the unit strain to keep up and can't take in moisture as it should. So, if you haven't cleaned the filter no is the time to check and clean it. And while your at it, clean the cooling coils too. Since it sounds like this unit has been working hard for 2 weeks.

The easiest and best way to test a dehumidifier at home, to see if it's working properly. Is to place it in the bathroom and turn the shower ON and don't operate the bathroom's exhaust fan. Set the humidity level low (45%), turn the unit ON and close the door when you leave. Wait 15 to 25 minutes and check the water collection bucket. If there's water in it, it's working as it should.

For more information on the proper operation of a dehumidifier, go to the Tips section of Fixya and look up "Taking the confusion out operating a dehumidifier".

Hope all this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.
