    What's funny is I got the TV for Christmas and in June (6 months later) the split screen happened as well. I sent it in to Emerson and now...5 months later I still do not have my TV back. Talk about being p.o 'd.

    Well guess means I am in the same boat as the rest of you guys.
    Split screen, and pictures moving slow and only 1 year old, ironic how the warranty just expired! What a waste of money!!

    Oh My Goodnes!! I'm glad I'm not alone! I had mine about 10 months and it does the same exact thing! Crazy thing is, I have had it on less than 30 times...I know!

    Same problem! We do not even use the tv much. 9 months old and got the split screen. I guess you get what you pay for. I learned my lesson and will spend an extra 50 bucks to get a better brand. It amazes me that the company is not recalling these with so many people having identical problems. Wish me luck as I am getting ready to call Funai corp

    My mother brought the same Model TV with the same problem home for me to look at and since warranty was gone I opened up the case and tore into it.found one of the wires going into the glass tubes to be loose and a spot on the main board that had gotten hot at one time or another dont know if this helps but would either of these things cause the problem?

    update to my problem...So I purchased the 2 year service agreement when I purchased at walmart. I reported a claim, sent the tv to a place in new york and since the tv is under the manufactur warranty, they have to send it to Funai Corp (which is Emerson). Funny thing is, now I am going on my second month waiting and the warranty I purchased when I bought it extends AFTER the 12 month manufacture warranty. Go figure and I wont be reimbursed for the 22.00 I paid for the extended thru walmart. I guess you live and learn and I will stick with the few bucks more brands and not go cheap again.

    Same problem here. Bought at Walmart 1 year ago. Took it to a service

    repair shop. They said it that the driver panel assembly is out. Anyone out

    there know what that is? The cost to repair would exceed the value of the

    unit. I don't have the sales receipt and I did not purchase the extended

    warranty from Walmart. Even if I found the receipt it looks like Emerson would not honor the warranty when I called them.

    My mother's TV has the split screen, she prayed today and did her devotions, when she opened her eyes the TV worked. But tonight she informed me it was backsliding and no longer works. Sounds like Emerson needs religion!!!

    It sure looks like this is a very common problem with these Emerson pieces of ****!! I have a 20 inch here that is doing the exact same thing. I took it to 3 different repair places here and was told that they won't work on Emerson TVs because they cost more to fix than what the TV is worth and they are basicly considered disposable. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

    Same problem with the same tv here. Split screen, then no screen. Purchased from Wal-Mart. They apologized for not being able to help, surprise!! Called Funi, they suggested purchasing another Emerson...hahaha!! Are they kidding? Thank goodness our atourney general is hard at work accepting money from these guys. Lesson Learned!! Never again!!

    Same situation - tv went out shortly after the 90 day return window passed at WalMart. We have contacted Emerson repeatedly, faxed in the info, and are still waiting (8 weeks later) for someone at Global Express to contact us regarding the pick up of the t.v. Many phone calls later, we are ready to contact our local tv station's consumer line and get them involved. After reading these postings, we aren't expecting much - seems as though they know the issue and don't care to fix it - I'm sure they will continue to sell many more of these worthless boxes as long as our retailers keep stocking them. Maybe we should ban together and send our anger towards the retailers who continue to take our money even though they surely have to know of the issues by now.

    I have the EXACT same problem with the same model. VERY TOP Horizontal pixel line stays active but everything thing else has a very slow pixel response and the bottom is split screened with a copy of the top screen. Amazed how light it was and how few parts they used inside and the engineering it must of took to cut down any extra part, but obviously they went too cheap and under built it. The only thing Emerson builds well are ceiling fans it seems.....

    Same problem, less than 2 years old, but from WalMart. I should have know to never buy a tv from WalMart. But everyone raves how wonderful WalMart is and how they save you money. BS!! I bought a tv to have for several years not less than two!!!!!!

    Same problem...split screen. Not that many hours on tv...but out of warranty OF COURSE. When I called Emerson they said...they have NEVER heard of this problem before. What a bunch of liars!

I know exactly what a split screen means. It's bad news bro'. Means the panel is bad. You have to replace the whole tv. Same goes for lines on the screen. It seems a year is all you can expect out of these cheapies.

I have the same problem. I called them, answered a bunch of questions and was assured that there's nothing they can do. We're on our own. Bought at WalMart.

I've got a BIG clue just a moment ago..... I unplugged one of 3 inverter backlight cables (with it off of course) and fired it up. For a moment it worked perfect for the first time since I've had it in my repair shop in 6 months (side proj.) with only a dim top half of screen then soon shut off and restarted back the old way. This leads me to suspect a weak power supply (maybe weak caps) if I find exactly which caps are bad I will post later - hopefully a $2 fix if that - just the hunting for the bad one will take some time.....

Emerson/Funai and LCD . You get what you pay for . That is all the life built in to these cheapies. I've been in the repair business since 1975 and a good LCD if they make one will cost you about $45.00 per screen inch and make sure you always buy the extended warranty on ANY LCD made.

Emerson Tech Support says that the display pcb is defective. The display pcb is not available separately from the display. The display is not available. Emerson has been replacing the complete tv if it is still on warranty. Jerry S

The Funai Corporation is a joke...My tv has the split screen also. I bought in Feb 07 May 07 it quit working 5 days after the 90 day warranty ran out. I brought to service center and they sent it back to Funai Corp to determine problem...TV needed to be replaced...I was sent a brand new tv (It took 4 months to get) and it did the same exact thing after 3 days...I call and wanted to return and get a refund. They told me on several occassion that they were sending me a return label. After 3 month of calling and waiting for label I was called and told I had to pay 45.00 to get tv picked up and service...I lost it.......I wasnt paying to get a tv picked up that was sent to me as a replacement and it broke 3 days later...I ended up contacting the better business bureau and also talking to my attorney about filing a small claim when I finally got a call to have the tv picked up by a service (like ups but not one I have ever heard of)..They picked up the tv and now I am waiting for a response on if I will get a refund or replacement tv...I already went out and bought another brand tv...I just want my money back but they wont just send me a check they can only do what is cost effective so I will get another crap tv and will break again I am sure........Wont buy another Emerson

Try wiggling it the video cable. I have a TV with a messed up video plug-in from pulling cords off it, and when we wiggle it then the screen will flicker the image and we keep wiggling it till the picture stays on the TV screen.

There is no picture, just sound.

I have a 32" Emerson that did the same time.
The problem with mine was one of the Power Inverter Transformer when out. It used 6 of them to power the LCD screen.
I believe yours will have more than 6 since it's a bigger screen.

Everything works but the picture; even on screen programming

try pluging cable wire directly to the tv to see if you get a picture you may have shorted out the rca connection may need to be repaired good luck.....

Blank screen beko lcd 26" lcd tv - sound ok (model no. L5A)

While you have sound, take a flashlight and shine it on the screen, look very close and see if you can see a dark video image.

TV turned off itself

Can you still turn it on?
If so, does it stay on with sound?

If the sound is ok and the picture is blue (even when changing channels, inputs, etc.) the lamp may have gone out.

Can you see the TV menu when you press the menu button on the remote or TV?

Emerson ewc1302 13 in. tv/vcr combo problem

We had that same problem. Try a VHS head cleaner. Worked for us.
