Loud key sounds

I can't figure out: 1) how to turn down the ringer or turn the phone to vibrate without making a beeping sound with each decrease in volume. 2) how to turn the sound of the keypad off, so I can have the ringer on, but not have to hear every key pressed when I send a text.

  1. Check a ringer volume and profile. Press a volume key to see the volume status bar at the top of the screen. Use the volume up and volume down keys to adjust the loudness of the ringer (scale 0 to 30). Tap on the text next to the ringer icon to change the profile (vibrate only, ring+vibrate).
  2. Check if the issue is with a specific ringtone: Go to Settings > ringtones+sounds > Ringtone, and tap on a playbutton to preview the ringtone.
  3. Switch off the ringer vibration (Settings > ringtones+sound > vibrate) temporary, to determine if your phone is affected by any motion settings i.e. Flip-to-Silence.
  4. Make sure that call forwarding is not switched on: Tap the phone icon > ... > Settings.
If the problem persists, restart your phone by pressing and holding the power and volume down keys simultaneously until the phone vibrates. Release and the phone will restart. After this operation, you may need to re-adjust the volume and set date+time on the phone. Note that this does not remove your personal content.

How do you turn up the ringer volume on the Jitterbug phone. It's currently set on vibrate & I don't know how the volume got turned that far down.

First, make sure your Jitterbug phone is turned on and open. While looking at the inside screen, adjust the volume by using the rubber volume button, which can be found on the outside of the phone. Press the top of the button to increase the volume and the bottom of the button to decrease the volume. The inside screen will display the ringer volume level. The ringer volume ranges from Vibrate to Max.

I have 4 KX-TG2740 units, each with 2 lines. One unit does not ring for line 1. It says "Ringer Off line 1". I can't figure out how to correct. Thank you.

Press CONF/FUNCTION key, scroll to Ringer Setting by using the up or down arrow of the center navigator key, then press the right arrow. Press the right arrow again at Ringer Volume. Press the down arrow to select Line 1. Press the up or down arrow to choose the ringer volume you want. Press the right soft key SAVE, a confirmation beep will sound.

The ringer volume can also be set while a call is ringing in on the line. Make a call to Line 1 number, use up or down arrow key while phone is ringing to adjust volume of Line 1 ringer.

Silent mode (vibrate only) capability

Although there is no real profile support in the SCH-u740, a simple downward press on the volume rocker lets you quickly silence the phone, while pressing upwards will reactivate the normal ringer.
With the phone open, a long press on the 'T' or '#' key will toggle the VIBRATION mode. The device comes with 11 ringtones built-in, but they are very basic sounding.
