Hi everybody! After many tries i can turn it on. But, most of the times it just blinks the leds, fan starts and nothing else, with or without battery installed (charger connected). It seems to be a miscontact or a defective component in the voltage regulator area. I can remove keyboard to measure some voltages, but i need to know what to measure. I hope somebody can help. Sorry for the "different" english. I am brazilian. Best regards!
Ignacio
I assume, you have loosen magnetics on mainboard, which need resoldering. Check this link for details:

My IBM T-21 laptop will intermittently boot up. Its very puzzling. It will boot up and work wonderfully, some of the time. However, sometimes it won’t boot at all. When it will not boot, the following applies:
1- Depress the start button
2- The hard drive indicator light will flicker and go out.
3- Nothing happens.
The BIOS should initiate and put the IBM logo on the screen and allow me to select the option to change the boot source of get into the system SETUP. None of this happens.
However, if the system is left alone to sit for a day or so, it will boot up as it should.
Sometimes when it is working, it has shut down on its own, and once again NOT boot, until it has sat for a day or so.
I have replaced the battery, the motherboard, the operating system (installed UBUNTU); the memory (bumped it up to the max of 512). It happens whether on battery or AC power. Help please!
I have opened the machine up again, and do not see what you are referring to...
