SOURCE: Electric Oven not getting hot enough

Sir, I think the top oelement is for broiling ONLY. It should not turn on when baking. The clicking may be the oven heating up.
How far apart were the oven temp instrument and the digital?
Don't expect them to match...they are inaccurate.

1. Heat water until it boils. Place digital therm in boiling water until it comes up to 212deg. If it is not at 212 in boiling water, record the error.(this gives a rough calibration to the digital)
2 Turn on oven, set to 350 deg, place digital therm on rack. Wait until oven reaches 350 (on stove) and read the digital. Note the difference between the two

SOURCE: Low Heat from GE XL44 gas range

you can increase the sides of the flames by opening the orifices, if not differences. make the orifices holes a bit bigger, you can have as big of a flame as you want. those orifices are at the connection of the burner with the valve that supplies gas to the burners.

SOURCE: GE Gas Range Over Won't Heat

Hello, Yes this is going to be the bake igniter. If you remove the lower panel in the oven you will see the bake igniter. It may still be working when you switch on the oven but it is not getting up to the correct temp in order to ignite the gas. Replace the igniter and you will be all set. If you have any other questions please feel free to comment. Good Luck! Mike

Why do burners not get hot? After rehooking to electrical power, due to a remodel, the burners don't seem to heat up as hot as they used to. Cant boil water on any of the 4 burners.

Could be not enough voltage on your 220.lines ( one wire lose or a bad breaker. or the wires are hooked up wrung causing it to try to operate on 110 instead of 220

Might they be too clean? Is it possible that you have soap/food/grease buildup on the ignition points? It sounds like your spark is not strong enough to light the gas.

Hello My gemini top burners cycle on and off,

The burners are designed to cycle on and off, it is technology that helps to keep from burning food. If you are using the correct pan to burner size ratio and high setting on your burner, the water should boil in the normal time. Don't watch the pot (just kidding)

Top burners often wont light if oven is already lit

Hello and welcome,
If your range has electronic igniters, then you seem to have one or more bad igniters on top of the range if you have a pilot range then you have a gas restriction or clogged orifice tube.
Even if they make the click noise while trying to light they may not get hot enough to draw the gas on a constant speed!

This will need to be diagnosed hands on at your location.
But this is the fault!

Thank you for using fixya.
