IFinder is the king of GPS devices with respect to memory. Though 1 gb looks a little bit too much for it in the time being and may well hang the phone .
You can purchase MMC cards with up to 128MB or SD cards with up to 64MB of memory

Hope this helps

If I get a new Lowrance GPS, can I use my SD card from my ifinder Hunt in the new device and use all my saved points?

First use "add gps" and add the original unit and the H20

use "receive from gps" to call in the original waypoint file from your sd card

use "send to gps" to save the new waypoint file to the sd card

remember that the original gps file may contain more waypoints than the H20 can hold so you may have to delete some waypoints from the file while in EasyGPS

if this is not clear enough, let me know and I will try again. I use the program all the time.
I just realized I left something out. EASYgps does not like the Lowrance HDS File version so an extra step is required if you are transferring files from an HDS to an IFinder. Save your HDS waypoints as Version 3 to the SD card and EASYgps will accept them

Can not format new card, not sure why this is happening?

Have you used the correct card?

It's very common for users to try too large a capacity or even the later SDHC cards which were designed long after your PowerShot SD400 / Digital Ixus 50. That camera can only accept SD cards to a maximum 2GB capacity, and with some brands it's a bit fussy and will only accept 1GB.

Also note that your camera does not need high speed SD cards, if you put an advanced speedy model in there it will work (subject to the previous restrictions) but your camera lacks the ability to make use of the speed.

The Lowrance 3500C has a 1 GB capability. Does that mean I must purchase a 1 GB SD card for it? Can't find anything smaller than a 2 GB SD card, but will a 2 GB card cause problems?

No, this means the internal memory size is 1 GB. If this unit accepts SD cards, you can increase the map capacity. 2GB SD cards should work properly in the unit.

Why cant I download my waypoint data to a 2 GB SD card. My Global map 5000c does not recognise the 2GB SD card. Do I need MMC/SD. Can I place the sd card in the slot beside the chart card ?. Thanks

You can place the SD card into the slot beside the chart card.

With the SD card in the GlobalMap unit by itself (take the chart card out), press MENU twice and choose BROWSE FILES. Does the unit indicate that an SD card is present? If yes, the card is working fine in that slot. Try the same thing in the other slot. If it only recognizes the SD card in one of the slots, the other slot is bad and probably won't work with any card. If the card is recognized in the BROWSE FILES menu, but the data that is on the card is not working, there could be compatibility issues with the data and the GlobalMap 5000.

Make sure the GlobalMap 5000 has the latest software update from http://www.lowrance.com/en/Products/Legacy-Products/GlobalMap-5000C/Downloads/GlobalMap-5000C-Software-Update-180/. You might need to get a different, smaller capacity card since your 2GB is not working.

If the 2GB SD card still isn't recognized in the BROWSE FILES menu after the update, the GlobalMap 5000 is not going to work with that 2GB card. You will want to get a different card. I suggest 1GB and smaller.

If this doesn't help, please let me know some more details. Is the 2GB SD card recognized in the BROWSE FILES menu. What are you seeing that makes you determine it does not recognize this card? What files are currently on this card? What kind of card is it (brand, model).

MapCreate Topo does not have lake maps. There are 'some' maps on Lowrance's web site (Free Enhanced Lake Maps) but you may need to purchase lake maps on SD cards for the area you're interested in.

I cannot bring up a marine chart showing depth and markers on my

Marine maps must be installed on SD cards. The base-map does not contain marine maps. Most on-line or brick-and-mortar hunting/fishing stores carry map cards for Lowrance units.

Z3 will not accept a 2g card

The Dimage Z3 accept SD cards up to 1GB (Minolta says 512 Mb, and sold it with 16Mb). This camera is 4MP , and uses less memory on card, therefore a 512MB card will be enough for it.

SanDisk Flash memory card - 512 MB SD Memory ...

from $13 - 20 stores

PNY Flash memory card - 512 MB SD Memory Card ...

from $3 - 2 stores

SanDisk SD Industrial Flash memory card - 512 ... from $14

Here 1 Gb, try at your risk, but they normally work:

1GB micro SD memory card for Konica Minolta ...

£6.90 - www.mobile-laden.co.uk

1GB Flash Memory Upgrade Card for Konica ... £3.44 - Memory Express

Map loading from SD card

Yes go to the Lowrance web site and down load the fix to a sd card , put the sd card in the i finder and it will update it automaticlly. I have not done it for map create 7.0 but have for map create 6.3. On the web site look under suport or downloads and you should find it. There is also a lot of free lake maps that you can download to sd card also. Good luck
