The Lowrance 3500C has a 1 GB capability. Does that mean I must purchase a 1 GB SD card for it? Can't find anything smaller than a 2 GB SD card, but will a 2 GB card cause problems?

No, this means the internal memory size is 1 GB. If this unit accepts SD cards, you can increase the map capacity. 2GB SD cards should work properly in the unit.

How to install the navionics micro sd chip

Hi James

After looking through the user's manual, (see link below) as this unit doesn't have chartplotter capability I think there is no slot for your SD card.

Sorry I couldn't have given you more joy.

Same as yours

The Z740 supports only MultiMediaCards & SD Memory Cards. 4GB and larger SD cards are usually SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) types - and bear the SDHC mark on the label. These cards are not compatible with this camera. Use only MMC and SD cards. SD cards are 2 GB and under - although *some* 4 GB cards are marked as SD too; these cards may or may not work. If you purchase a 4 GB SD (not SDHC) card, make sure that it can be returned if it doesn't work reliably in your camera.

Why cant I download my waypoint data to a 2 GB SD card. My Global map 5000c does not recognise the 2GB SD card. Do I need MMC/SD. Can I place the sd card in the slot beside the chart card ?. Thanks

You can place the SD card into the slot beside the chart card.

With the SD card in the GlobalMap unit by itself (take the chart card out), press MENU twice and choose BROWSE FILES. Does the unit indicate that an SD card is present? If yes, the card is working fine in that slot. Try the same thing in the other slot. If it only recognizes the SD card in one of the slots, the other slot is bad and probably won't work with any card. If the card is recognized in the BROWSE FILES menu, but the data that is on the card is not working, there could be compatibility issues with the data and the GlobalMap 5000.

Make sure the GlobalMap 5000 has the latest software update from http://www.lowrance.com/en/Products/Legacy-Products/GlobalMap-5000C/Downloads/GlobalMap-5000C-Software-Update-180/. You might need to get a different, smaller capacity card since your 2GB is not working.

If the 2GB SD card still isn't recognized in the BROWSE FILES menu after the update, the GlobalMap 5000 is not going to work with that 2GB card. You will want to get a different card. I suggest 1GB and smaller.

If this doesn't help, please let me know some more details. Is the 2GB SD card recognized in the BROWSE FILES menu. What are you seeing that makes you determine it does not recognize this card? What files are currently on this card? What kind of card is it (brand, model).

I purchased a 2 GB SD card for my Kodak Easy Share C330 camera. This 2 GB SD card will not work. I was told that this C330 Camera can only take a 1 GB SD card. Is this correct? If it is not correct what do...

Although the manual doesn't specifically say the maximum capacity, looking at their accessories website only sells 1 GB cards for the camera. This tells me that the maximum capacity is, indeed, 1 GB which is not an uncommon occurrence.

How large of an SD card will a Lowrance IFinder express accept? Can a 1gb card be used?

iFinder is the king of GPS devices with respect to memory. Though 1 gb looks a little bit too much for it in the time being and may well hang the phone .
You can purchase MMC cards with up to 128MB or SD cards with up to 64MB of memory

Hope this helps

What it take to upgrade maps in my iway250c

You have to go to Navtec's website. They make the maps, Lowrance doesn't. Yes, you'll have to pay. I paid $90 for the 2008 Navtec US maps. Make sure you buy maps that are on a version 1 SD card, or download them to your computer online. Iway250 doesn't support SD ver. 2 or any SD cards 4GB or bigger.
