Replacing PC internals can be tricky; it's sometimes very dependent on the type of tower/brand of PC you're using, as some have the USB ports a unique size and are fixed into quite hard-to-reach areas. What's the make and model number of your PC tower?

SOURCE: I broke my USB port on my Acer Aspire 4730Z. How

open the laptop, desktop pc, and remove carefully the internal usb connector, that goes to the motherboard, BEFORE ANYTHING DISCONNECT THE POWER CABLE, AND EVERY SINGLE CABLE ITS CONNECTED TO, MOUSE, KEYBOARD...ETC. then see which kind it is, and go to your local hardware store, Best Buy, Fry's, or order it online.

A USB port in the Front I/o ports need to be replaced with new

First off, you need the model number of the TOWER that you are trying to replace the FRONTSIDE USB ports. Go to E-bay or Amazon and see what they\'ve got for THAT particular model.

Can i use a usb 2.0 or 3.0 pci card with compaq w6000

PCI is an industry standard and you should be fine using the PCI USB card but you need to make sure your operating system will be compatible with the PCI card that you purchase. It will tell you right on the package.

I have toshiba Tecra 9000 laptop, its USB ports and Keyboard EXTERNAL port is not working. please help me

It's a common problem with the Tecra 9000's - either one or both USB ports and sometimes the external KB port along with it. The 2 USB's and external KB port (and the TV out port next to it) are all located on the same daughterboard that plugs into the motherboard, and in your case, more than likely the connector on the motherboard is bad (gotten loose). There's no easy fix for this unless you've got an ultra-fine soldering tip, good soldering skills....

How about a workaround? A PC card (PCMCIA card) that gives you 2 or 4 high speed USB 2.0 ports - it'll stick out a little on the right hand side, but in return you'll have fast USB ports, and you can use a USB keyboard with the thing.

I got a memory card card reader that fits in myu tower it conects to the front usb pins but i dont know which way around the connector needs to be

David, first take a look at the connector at the end of the card reader's cable. It should be a rather wide rectangle, silver in color. You'll notice that one of the two wide sides has a thin line in the metal (or a ****, or whatever one might call it). That side should generally face down when you connect the cable to your PC.
If the USB connections are on the back of your PC and are vertically oriented, it's slightly trickier. You'll probably notice that the USB "ports", as well as all the other cable connections, are all grouped together in a rectangular area, with many of the connections being colored. That rectangular area is probably flush with one or the other side of the tower. While looking at the back side of the tower, the side that rectangular connector area is closer to is considered the "bottom direction". So if it were, say, on the left side, turn the USB connection so that the side with the **** is on the left as you connect it to the PC.
If you're unlucky enough to have a USB connector at the end of the cable on which both of the wider sides look 100% identical (without that distinguishing ****), then another way to figure it out is to look into the inside of the connector. You'll notice that it's partly hollow, and the other half is taken up by a white, black or possibly blue piece of plastic. Turn the connector so that that plastic part is in the lower half

My acer Aspire 57342 usb port seems broke. How do I get it fixed. I have an air card in the rear port but the front port I can't plug my mouse or printer into. Also another question are both usb...

BAD News.
Usually the USB Port is a part of the Mother Board on a PC and the replacement of the Mother Board is the only solution.
You can find them on the internet at Ebay and other locations. BUT it is very involved to replace.

If you have one good USB Port, Get an adapter that will allow multiple inputs.

Example:

Question 2. I do not know. On most PC's two are horizintal and two are vertical.

What port do I use for printer on Aspire 5553. I have a new Aspire laptop and want to plug in my old printer but am not sure which port to use.

Chances are if you're printer's too old it'll use an LPT port, or parallel port. Your laptop you do not have an LPT port (it would look like this) http://electronicsuk.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/parallel.jpg If that's the port that's coming out of your printer, you'll need one of these: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=LPT+to+USB+adapter&biw=1909&bih=854&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=1660719598718154490&sa=X&ei=s-74TeqQO8bdgQeu-_GXDA&ved=0CF8Q8gIwAg However, if there's a place on your printer that looks like this: http://zone.ni.com/cms/images/devzone/tut/b/248893b9164.jpg (left one is more likely), then you can use a USB cable. Just go into any radio shack or the like and ask for a USB B cable. Make sure one end is flat (like the right ports in the last pic) and one end is square (like the left ones).
