Take off automatic sync and just sync the music you want to using manual sync. Automatic sync has parameters. such as it will only sync the newest or most recently added or your playlists that you select. manual sync you just drag from your library and just drop it into your ipod on the left side of itunes. you can try to do this with automatic sync but next time you plug it in it might dissappear.

  • Chuck Feb 24, 2009

there is actually an option right under automatic sync. it states to sync only checked songs and videos make sure to check this as well. You can try to leave automatic sync on as well and let me know how you made out.

  • Chuck Feb 24, 2009

i like the manual sync becasue i just drag the playlists or albums anything i want from my library and just drop it over where it shows my ipod and just drop it in. it is so easy.....

Ipod nano 16GBhow to delete songs from it

you must delete the song on iTunes (or just uncheck it, and tell iPod in the iPod screen on iTunes not to sync checked songs and video) and then sync it for the song to go away. iPod requires iTunes to make changes to your media list.

Ipod classic won't sync with itunes 10

Restarting your computer is often the solution when your iPod fails to sync with your iTunes music library. But if this fails, there are other troubleshooting steps to take.

Recharge your iPod via a USB cable connected to your computer or AC adapter. b> Click the help menu in iTunes and check for updates. Follow the onscreen prompts to download and install the latest version of the software. Open the new version of iTunes. Click the name of your iPod in the source list and check for updates under the summary tab to update your iPod. Attempt to sync your iPod with iTunes. Slide your iPod's hold switch to the hold position and then to off. Press and hold the menu and center buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears to reset your iPod. Open iTunes on your computer and reconnect your iPod to try to sync it with iTunes. Restart iPod service b> Close iTunes and make sure your iPod is disconnected from the computer. Click the 'start' button. Click 'run' if using Windows XP. Type 'services.msc' in the run box in XP and in the search box in the start menu in Windows 7 and Vista. Press 'enter.' Scroll through the list and double-click on 'iPod service.' Click the 'stop' button and leave the properties window open. Connect your iPod to the computer. Open 'my computer' or 'computer' and look for your iPod listed in the devices with removable storage section. Click the 'start' button in the iPod Service's properties window. Open iTunes to attempt to sync your iPod. Close the iPod Service's properties window once your iPod has finished syncing. Resolve "Original File could not be Found" Double-click the name of a song in the iTunes program that failed to sync to your iPod. Click 'yes' or 'locate' to the message asking you if you want to locate the file. Navigate to the folder or directory location where the song is stored on your computer. Double-click the song file to select it and add it back to iTunes. Reconnect your iPod to the computer and open iTunes to restart the syncing process. How do I delete songs from my ipod?

There are two ways to delete music from your iPod. The first is to delete songs in your iTunes library and have iTunes sync your library to your iPod automatically when you plug your iPod into the computer. The second is to manually delete music by resetting the options to a manual setting and deleting music directly from your iPod without affecting the songs in your iTunes library. Follow these steps to delete music from your iPod. Open up iTunes by double clicking on the "iTunes" icon. Go to "Library" on the far left side of the screen. Click "Music" from this list, which will bring up all your music on the main part of the screen. Choose a song you would like to delete from the list and right click on it. Click "Delete" from the drop-down menu that appears to delete your song. Go to the bottom of the left column on the screen to "Playlists." Click on one of your playlists to bring up the list of songs in the list. From there you can delete a song on the list. Connect your iPod to your computer. The iTunes program will automatically sync your iPod to whatever you have changed in your iTunes library as long as it is set to the default settings. Manually Delete Music Connect your iPod to your computer. Open up iTunes. Choose the third option in the "Options" menu called "Manually manage music" by checking the box next to it. It will ask you if you are sure you want to manually manage music on your iPod. Click "OK." Go to "Devices" on the far left column on your screen. You will see your iPod's name directly underneath that with an arrow pointing to the right. Click on the arrow, which will cause it to rotate until it is pointing downward and a drop-down menu will appear with all your songs listed. Click on a category or playlist, which will bring up all the songs in the list in the main section of the screen. Choose on a song listed that you would like to delete and right click on it, then click "Delete" from the drop-down menu that appears to delete your song.

Hi I have a playlist on my itunes which when I download it onto my ipod, one of the songs is missed off. This song shows and plays on the playlist on itunes, and is on the main menu of my ipod, just not...

  1. Plug in your iPod to your computer and run iTunes.
  2. Sync your device.
  3. Re-check to make sure that song is under that specific playlist (if its not drag it onto the playlist)
  4. Make sure the box next to the song in iTunes is checked meaning it will sync with your iPod and your playlist.
  5. Apply the changes you have made to the playlist by re-syncing your iPod.
  6. If the box is checked and you sync your device the song should be listed under your playlist.
