The instrument lights and the heater knob backlights etc.. all went off..Replaced the fuse and they were good for awhile but then blew it again. The tailights went out with the instrument lights, Brake lights still light up..all dummy lights work, high beam, turn etc.. Disconnected the dimmer switch and replaced fuse, I now have tailights again but no cluster lights as before. Fuse is not blown now!

its aprocess of tracing the wires on the circuit with a tester from the power sorce & checking along its path to the other ends!
a bad earth or ground can also cause loss of continuity [result looks like no power]
SOURCE: Instrument cluster and tail lights out. Which fuse on a 2002 f-250??
The fuse box box cover panel is on the left of steering column.
Fuse #41- 10A* Instrument cluster

The 2002 F-250 PStroke 4x4 had the instument lamps poping the fuse intermittently .
Turned out to be a wire getting pinched btween the emergency brake lever and the release stop .
Had to remove the keft kick panel and there was a yellow wire coming from the lower harness up toward the dash . the wire was pinched /hung up in the emergency brake mechanism . Good Luck

make sure the dash lights dimmer switch is turn all the way off.it make your dash light not light up.if its okay check the wiring.
SOURCE: Blows fuses when parking lights are turned on. Headlights work fine even running lights.
If it only happens when you turn the switchto the parking lights then it is most likely the swich that is the problem. Light swich failure appears to be a common fault with fords
