Printer displays "Scanner error" after warmup

I have a Samsung X4300 multifunctional, and my problem is that i get this message on the printer's display. "Scanner error". During ther warmup i can see that the scanner element is not moving and it makes some noises.  Can i fix this myself, somehow? Or do i need to go to the dealer?

the scanner is jammed.you may try with knocking lightly on your both palm at the top of platen cover. some time this releases the jam. if persists call trained person to re assembly the set.

My samsung scx 4300 printer show display scanner error what i do?
First check to see if the scanner is locked. Under the scanner is a slider that locks it. Second see if the scanner lamp is on. If not then a new lamp/invertor is required.
